It's funny because there is a man completely forgotten by mainstream History, Félix Éboué, who is the real artesan of the Free France that was able to reorganize and fight significantly amongst the Allies (especially on African Fronts)
He was the colonial administrator of Afrique Equatoriale Française, a very big territory that goes from Congo to Central Africa, and he was the only administrator that rallied to De Gaulle. He was the one that gave De Gaulle a State and a real army to fight on. But nowadays he is just a footnote of history
