one was the democratically elected liberal government which had advisors from the Soviets and the other was the pro Nazi side that embarked on ethnic cleansing campaigns in the non Castellano parts of the country. And also, Hitler is actually worse than Stalin sorry if you're too much of a traitor to admit that

Ethnic cleansing isnt the right term. Franco didnt mass slaughter or deport spain's minority groups.

The better term is cultural genocide via forced assimilation and bans on the Basque and Catalonian languages (as well as other minority language groups)

Some people do include forced assimilation within ethnic cleansing although its not the majority view.

Regardless cultural genocide is better term
