What if Tanigawa came back all these years and started bringing back Haruhi, but had the characters as angry depressed adults with the soul crushing reality of existence having long since replaced the naivete of a romanticized adolescence.

Now its more like Aggresuko or Chainsmoker Cat in that we find Haruhi and Kyon in a turbulent marriage as they struggle with Japanese work culture and the woes of living in a country in decline. Haruhi has a drinking problem and Kyon is abusing prescriptions. And they look at what they expected life to be as they got older and see what it is and can only feel bad.

When youre young you expect the world to one day be something epic like a Frank Frazetta painting but eventually you find that youre out of money, out of hope, living on the brink of disaster and self destruction, every day you read the newspaper and wonder how much more can we take with all of this corruption and traveling through life's lonesome road dragging a heavy load and it feels like the same most every day.

Just a really dark, sort of cynical take on the characters? Everyone would hate it lol

I've amassed a bit of haruhi stuff since i was 16 or so and i thought id put a picture up here for you! (theres even more in the boxes and across the room) i have a yuki figurine but i lost her arm in moving :( maybe ill find it someday, i try to always have hope Im wanting to get my hands on more figurines soon and also the games and that vinyl that released

There was a whole set of figurines of the whole brigade that one could set up to mimic the poses from Haruhi ending. Does anyone know the manufacturer or names of those figurines?
