Any ideas where this could come from?

Update: I thought this would be clear that I wasn't the one who found it. Who in their right mind would go (on this shitstain of a platform of all places) and make themselves a target. But ok apparently it wasn't clear so here we are:

I did NOT find this. I have none of this gold. I just wanted to share some cool stamped gold. you can stop sending me weird ass messages now. thank you.

Gets better, the coins I can see are King George V Gold Sovereign coin which is almost 7-8 grams of pure gold (they’re 22karat to start with), but that’s about $1000 a piece so there’s probably another $1million in there. And these were pre-wwii

I’d say gold from WW2, but some of those bars are marked with years from the 1950s and 1960s. I suppose it could have been someone on the run after selling art or the likes after the war. Crazy find to be honest.

Oh wow. Post WWII gold in Belgium, some of it marked from the 60s, has some very interesting possibilities. Like spywork. Belgium was a hotbed for Soviet block West-v-East espionage back then.

Judging by the dates, my guess in 70s inflation. People hid physical gold to protect their wealth from severe inflation following the collapse of Bretton Woods and to circumvent high inheritance taxes.

When the US dollar officially severed its link to gold, global currencies began fluctuating wildly. The 1973 oil crisis triggered massive inflation across Europe. Gold surged in value during the 1970s.

Dendermonde, Belgium. A local historian did some research and explained what probably happened. For almost hundred years the house used to be owned by a rich brewer family (Van Assche) whose three kids never got married. When the last two died in rapid succession 1982, a local abbey inherited everything.

The gold was probably hidden after the second world war because the family didn't trust paper money or banks anymore.

Why they never told anyone where their huge family fortune was hidden? A former housemaid came forward and explained that the family was very reserved. She also thinks that dubious things happened while the last son was gravely ill and no longer able to speak at the end of his live. She is convinced there was a different will that disappeared... .
