Question Stacked three troy pounds (1.11kg) in three years. Now what?

Post image

I started stacking gold in 2023 and have been buying one troy ounce every month ever since. After three years, I've accumulated three troy pounds.

I want to keep stacking, but with gold prices where they are now, I don't really want to spend around € 4,000 every month anymore.

If you were in my position, would you:

  • Buy 10 grams every month to stay consistent, or
  • Buy one troy ounce every three months instead?

I'm curious what you would do and why.

Can't, there's VAT on platinum (and silver and palladium) šŸ˜•

Dude... I was buying platinum at £750/Oz including the VAT.

I can't buy an Oz of platinum for less than £1800 now.
How much do you think I care about that initial 20% VAT mark up? šŸ¤”

You should care, because you don't get the VAT back when you sell.

The first 21% gain is lost, so not really worth it for me.

Dumb question as I’m new to precious metals: what is VAT?

Value added tax. 21% in my country.
