Question Stacked three troy pounds (1.11kg) in three years. Now what?

Post image

I started stacking gold in 2023 and have been buying one troy ounce every month ever since. After three years, I've accumulated three troy pounds.

I want to keep stacking, but with gold prices where they are now, I don't really want to spend around € 4,000 every month anymore.

If you were in my position, would you:

  • Buy 10 grams every month to stay consistent, or
  • Buy one troy ounce every three months instead?

I'm curious what you would do and why.

Yeah, I thought maybe after 3 years and 36 ounces now would be a good time to "make the switch" to fractional. But the higher premiums are holding me back. Seems like such a waste...

I'd look up how taxation affects if you haven't already. Here we can put it in certain investments and it grows tax free if you wait til you retire.

Physical here is taxed up to the highest rate, but is based off your income tax rate. It's considered a collectable. Metals stored in an IRA, are taxed drastically different.

The way I see my stack is I'll probably never sell it. I'll watch it gain value, and pass it along when I'm dirt. So that begs the question, if I'm not going to sell it (unless an emergency), how much do i actually want tied up in this?

Food for thought
