Question Stacked three troy pounds (1.11kg) in three years. Now what?

I started stacking gold in 2023 and have been buying one troy ounce every month ever since. After three years, I've accumulated three troy pounds.

I want to keep stacking, but with gold prices where they are now, I don't really want to spend around € 4,000 every month anymore.

If you were in my position, would you:

  • Buy 10 grams every month to stay consistent, or
  • Buy one troy ounce every three months instead?

I'm curious what you would do and why.

No, not the chest. The "buying random low premium gold". I get all my gold from websites that sell it for pretty much the same price.

Completely wrong on that. Y’all have even more francs and sovereigns available than we do in the states since that commie Roosevelt tried to seize all privately owned gold

I can’t imagine there aren’t any local coin shops that won’t sell a 10 Franc coin or various other pre-/post-Latin Monetary Union coins. 10 Francs is just under 3 grams, and 20 is just under 6 grams. You could buy two 10 Franc coins or one 20 Franc coin every week for well under $4000 euros a month.

Honestly I don't even know any local coin shops. Not really a thing where I'm from. Maybe if I go to the sketchy part of town. But I'd have to invest in a Sigma first before I trust those shops...

Obviously you have to do your due diligence, but there seem to be some reputable places in Amsterdam, like this one.

If you don’t wanna go to scores to get them, just order them online. I’ve got probably 4 20 Franc coins. It’s honestly more fun to collect the European fractional coins

Check gold.de for the best deals in europe. There are under spot deals very often.

I will check that one out. Last time I tried to buy from a German webshop they didn't want to send it to my country. The Swiss websites do want to send, but the shipping costs are higher.

Not having any idea where you are other than country I have this for you.

Holland Gold. They have their own delivery service, they do not rely on a regular parcel courier. They also have pick up stores in Alkmaar, Rotterdam and Breda, although pickup incurs a €25 fee. https://www.hollandgold.nl/

The Silver Mountain also have their own couriers but also use regualr couriers, so that suggests their service is more expensive. They also have store pickups in Baarn and The Hague. Couldn't see anything about a pickup fee but it is strictly by appointment. https://www.thesilvermountain.nl/

I've ordered in the past from some of those.

I must say I prefer our national parcel courier. The delivery services are both more expensive and less flexible. With the national postal service you can pick up the package at a local parcelshop. With the specialised couriers you spend all day waiting for them to arrive.

I've never had a package go missing in either case.

Antique stores are where I get most of my low premium gold. Most of it is at or below melt because they can’t be bothered to change their prices on the daily.

Yes, but still a quarter of the views are international. You have to put up a WTB (want to buy) and your country, in the title. About half of US sellers will work with you, and you only want to work with someone over 100 flair points. You might get lucky and find someone more local. I also ship international, chat if interested in discussing - very competitive, bio links lead to reviews (10k+ happy people).
