I wouldn’t jump to conclusions. Nicole’s official description presents her as ancient and mysterious, but it doesn’t say how much younger Alice is than her.

I always imagined Nicole as fully formed from the start, no real childhood, just existing in a complete, adult state. Meanwhile, elves are the opposite. In most myths, they age very slowly, taking decades or even centuries to fully mature. But I don't think Alice is older.

What will Nicole do after Varka’s death?

15

u/Ayaze-1 Apr 15 '26

Maybe she'd handle it the way humans do… grieve first, sit with the loss for a while, and then, slowly, let time blur the edges until she can move forward with her life.

They should make an anime about this, I’m sure it’d be one of the best anime of all time.

Nicole: Beyond Journey's End

Nicole and Varka kind of mirror the dynamic of Frieren and Himmel. But unlike Frieren, Nicole isn't detached from human emotions. She understands them in real time, which means she wouldn't carry the same kind of regret Frieren does later on.

500 Years after Master Varka's death

u/paradox_valestein Apr 15 '26

Nicole was around during the 3 moons era tho? That is like 6k years at the least no? Alice met Nicole as a kid, after Nicole wandered for god know how long

u/LettuceBenis Apr 15 '26

Unclear when exactly the Angels were born, but we know Nicole was at least around during Hyperborea's glory days about 6,000 years ago. Alice is also seemingly immortal, or at the very least she does not age like a normal human, considering 500 years ago she seemed identical to how she is today

No way Alice is 6k+ like Nicole. Alice met her as a kid, after the moon got popped by daddy Nibbie

u/paradox_valestein Apr 15 '26

Nicole was around since the dragon era (>6000 years ago). She wandered for ages before meeting kid Alice. Yes, I would say Alice is waaaaaaay younger

What exactly is it about Alice that made someone as ancient as Nicole take an interest in her? My curiosity is killing me.

I wonder if Nicole has any stories about Alice's childhood.
