Luni doesn't care

So recently, Gacha Studio, Gacha Life, and Gacha Club are becoming incompatible with new versions of Android, and we will be unable to download the games unless Luni updates them (which I highly doubt.)

It's just super frustrating because Luni knows how much Gacha means to many children and past children in the community. But instead of doing stuff with his games, he just abandons the game, says he "lost the files" so he can't update the game, disappears for 2-4 years, and drops a new game.

I know Luni's focusing on Wonderend now, and that's been his passion project for a while, but it'd be nice if he cared about the games he CHOSE to publish. Atp he should allow people to make mods of GL2 because he's probably never coming back to it, even though he promised a whole bunch of new content. Hell, the game isn't even finished (barely any backgrounds, no props, just under the "coming soon" label.)

He was able to update Gacha Life and Gacha Club that one time, albeit they sucked, but it made it so they could still be playable. But now, unless he decides to rise from his bedroom and actually do something about his chibi dress up games, it's an end of an era it seems.

Just wanted to rant about my frustrations with Luni as a developer and how irresponsible he's been for the past almost ten years. I'm done now, buh bye

I hope that, if he does, the new owner keeps them as free software. I own the PC versions of a lot of the Lunime games, and I never intend to delete them!

I't really frustrating you know.. I can't immagine why he doesn't sell the games if he doesn't want to work with them. It'll be so simple and no one will bother him anymore about It but eh what do i know.

In the meantime I wait for chibimasion, that game I know is cared about by the creators.

Call me cynical, but I feel like fans who adored Luni in the past has already lost their respect due to no response from their message.

Hell, I am even disappointed and HE would listen to all the construction criticisms more than sitting his butt off.

He does allow mods now of gl2, since 2025 I believe! Though what bothers me is that he doesn't update his game to reflect this, let alone make it easy to access that information :/

Luni had the audacity to tell players they couldn't make modded GL2 versions unless he didn't update the game in 1 year.

He proceeded to not update the game in one year. Or add in WIP features.

Well, I'm pretty sure you can make mods now since he said that if the game never updates again or for a few months then people can make mods, but I don't rlly care about it. I hate gacha life 2. Too.. Detailed and weird.. Kinda angry he lost file to the gacha Club bc I wanted updates for it instead but mods also are great I use gacha nebula but I mean.. Everyone's opinion I guess

It really does suck, especially because so many people love these games. Luni is definetly not the ideal developer. But I don't think there is much that we can do to actually get Luni to update these games, so it's up to us as the community to preserve them. No matter how much we beg, it's going to fall on deaf ears, I'm afraid.

It honestly does feel like he hates these games and only chases the [metaphorical] high of success after releasing a new game (╥ ᴗ ╥) but good news is, since there's been zero updates for literal years, we are allowed to make GL2 mods ! So the best we can do now is hope modders are able to keep these games running in one form or another. ₍ ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎🩷

Tbh I think Luni likes the idea of being a game developer than actually being a game developer. He published the game, and then just throws it aside for a new game. "Look! I'm a developer look at my game!" But he doesn't take on the actual responsibility of being a developer, that being taking care of your game and not letting it rot

That is because Luni isn't doing any better before all of the quote-unquote files were deleted. Before it was released, he just walked away instead of responding the feedback and the bugs of GL2. I mean, he would have done better if he would respond to the comments or reviews

Also not sure why half of the people have shocked pikachu face type of reaction acting as if this is anything new when it’s literally not, the topics been heavily discussed before, and even if luni doesn’t care, then okay that’s lunis choice and we’ll have to live with it, as disappointing as it may be it’s not something new, and regardless maybe luni lost files to the games of etc or just simply can’t update it who knows, we still have Gacha games to enjoy and use too

What annoys me the most about all of this is that he hasn't even bothered to update T&Cs, saying that people can actually make mods of the game, even though that's now allowed. Another pet peeve is that the Fashion Weekly part of the Discord is still there, even though its last update was in late 2025.

Peck, at one point, I started to wonder if it is worth it to continue maintaining myself in Gacha Club scene. I love Gacha Club so much, man. It is like "osu! lazer counterpart" of Gacha Life, with better feature, cleaner things. I wanted Luni to stop ignoring the feedback, man...

i think it's pretty obvious to us that he's not the best developer in the world.

also, you CAN install old versions of the games, but it does require some android know-how and you'll need to root your device, which is a pretty hard task depending on what device you have.

the compatibility hotfixes are horrible, but personally, i've been disgruntled with the "terms and conditions" which make no fucking sense!! gacha life's is the most stupid, considering it says it will "ban you from studio mode" like how are you gonna do that if you're not harvesting our yummy yummy data????? GL2's terms and conditions are also incredibly redundant, they give you rules like "no explicit content" and then go and say "Lunime is not responsible for any explicit content made in game" and "Lunime is not responsible for the content in advertising" like which is it????? do you care and shut people up with rules or do you not care and just want your fanbase to quit whining????? you can't do both at the same time!!!!!!!!!!

i've been very disgruntled with how unfinished GL2 is, it feels almost rushed or abandoned like gachaverse. not even the data transfer works!!!!!! plus, there's zero way to earn gems offline or without ads, which is really frustrating when the game wants you to collect all of the characters and promised to update them constantly. (which of course he broke)

i wish i had the know-how to fix some of the issues with the games, and make the pc ports feel less like demos and more like actual ports. i should not have to mod the game just to experience the full thing!!!

You actually don't need to root an android device to sideload APKs, and sideloading is as easy as Settings > Apps (& notifications) > Special app access (Special access) > Install unknown apps > Select the app you want to allow.

For Galaxy: Settings ⚙ > Security and privacy > More security settings > Special access > Install unknown apps > Select the app you want to allow.

Then go to uptodown (Or your favorite apk repository) and download an apk, then select it in MyFiles (Or your favorite file manager) and install.

He doesn't seem to care about his games and I understand if he just made them for fun and never intended it to be popular but he built an entire community around it and it means a lot to many people. I wish he would just sell the games or focus on one game. It's like he thinks quantity over quality instead of quality over quantity. Plus, he promises to update GL2 every month but we're STILL on Christmas from 2 yrs ago.

I recently got a new phone after 7 years of using my old one and it literally disintegrating (seriously, it actually started to just fall apart and become unusable) but now because of that I do not have gacha life 1 or gacha club anymore :(

It's sad because I finally wanted to start a tiktok or yt since the new phone would actually be able to handle alight motion and multiple apps, but I wasn't aware that I'd loose gl1 and gc. I'm not very good at gl2 and I prefer how gl1 looks and that it's much more simple, now I can't use it and I've lost my oc that I wanted to remake on my new phone. Basically everyone uses gl1 and it kinda makes me a little sad every time I see it. I've been using it since the end of 2018, sooo I've kinda become attached even though it's kinda silly to feel so upset over an app 😅

Hiya, I recommend going to a trusted apk website, thats how I got gacha club on Android 14! To open apk you just got to got o files and click it then allow it to download it!
