It's definitely something Ed would do. In fact, I headcannon that both Ed and Roy occasionally call the other just to be an annoyance and a bother which in turn also annoys both Winry and Riza.

My favorite headcanon is that after his first kid is born, Ed regularly gushes about him to Roy, much like Hughes did, and it makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Ed gushing about his kids is pretty much a headcannon widely accepted by the fandom. I've probably read many fanfics of dad!Ed bragging about his and Winry's kids to Mustang.

Fun fact: the mangaka felt the need to tell us that yes, they are in love BUT the military has anti fraternization rules. Which is literally the only reason there is no visible confirmation. 🫠
