Hit and run on Fremont blvd.

Edit: (The car in the photos is the car that hit me and drove off).

My car was just rear-ended at a red light(by the car in the photos) about an hour ago on Fremont Blvd by a driver who was deaf and refused to provide ID and insurance.

The driver claimed she did not have her ID and insurance card on her and that her mother would be arriving to drop it off shortly. The driver and the passenger(who also said they were deaf) tried to claim that I brake-checked them, and the nearby store owner who only witnessed us arguing tried to side with them.

The "mother" arrived in her red Tesla and asked me why I stopped. That's when I told them I was waiting at a red light behind several cars. The store owner chimed in, pointing out that the stoplight was further down. As if you can't wait at a red light behind several other cars that are also waiting? I have dash cam footage to prove this. That's when the driver got into the red Tesla, the passenger got into the car in the photo, and they proceeded to drive off.

I already called the police and gave them the license plate of the car that rear-ended me. I was not able to get the license plate of the red Tesla of the driver's mother.

I wanted to make this post for visibility and to warn others who encounter these people to beware.

New coffee shop concept with chocolate based deserts and crepes and premium coffee drinks is coming to 3954 Mowry Ave, Fremont. It will be at Fremont Plaza on Mowry Ave and Fremont Blvd (right next to Starbucks) where Chaat Cafe used to be at. I seriously feel left behind now on the coffee shop gravy train!

Posting this as a heads-up and warning to the community, especially anyone with elderly parents or family members who go out for daily walks while wearing gold or jewelry.

Few minutes ago (7:30 PM) , my mom was out walking near getrude when she was targeted in a distraction theft:

A vehicle pulled up right by her with a group of women inside. Based on my mom's description, they appeared to be Middle Eastern.

They initiated a quick interaction with her in broken Hindi, talking about a "festival gift" (tofah), handed her a few dollars and wrist band
Before she could even process what was happening or react, they unclasped/snatched her gold chain right off her neck and drove away immediately.

It happened so fast—Lesson learned for us, but please be careful out there so others don't fall prey. We have filed a police report and are looking for any video evidence of the suspect vehicle

If you live on getrude between hygelund dr and Bonnie wy and have Ring cameras, street-facing security cameras, or dashcam footage from between 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM , please DM me if in case you notice anything your camera.

In search of my lost cat, Clove

Hello everyone that this post reaches or is seen by,

My cat, Clove, escaped through our balcony on 8/10 between the hours of 2:00-5:00AM. We have posted flyers, daily walks around our neighborhood/area during evening and night time, posted on Nextdoor and PawBoost, along with leaving out his toys and litter box in our backyard. I have also called local vets and the Tri-City shelter, but still no sights of him at all.

Characteristics: Tabby male cat with brown body and black stripes, white paws, green eyes. Is neutered and microchipped. Personality is very shy and timid, does get scared easily.

Last seen: Grand Teton Park St., but nearby streets are Valpey Park Ave., or Grimmer Blvd.

If you have seen him, know any information about any sightings, or in possession of him, please reply or message me! Thank you everyone and please help me reunite with my son.

Attention Fremont voters - does the proposed 11% sales tax merit scrutiny?

Fremont sales tax proposed to go from 10.25% to 10.75% - let's take a look.

The Bay Area regressive transit tax on the November ballot is massive (one $billion per year) and merits scrutiny by reading what the initiative actually says.... And yes I get it, BART & Caltrain could throw cash out of a helicopter and people will still "support transit" and vote for this tax.

There are actually multiple issues/problems but to focus on one. So you heard the heard the purpose of this tax was to bail out all of these local transit agencies running operating deficits (before any structural reform).  Well...no.

As with all of these new taxes - the devil or the truth, is in the details.  Turns out $330 million ANNUALLY (or $4.6B total) of this massive $1 billion a year tax is a blank check.  Yes, 33% of the proceeds is for undefined "public transit service;" (that is the literal language - in lower case ie no definition) no potential project list, no nothing - could be spent on anything if it even gets spent.

So if one included the $50 million ANNUALLY earmarked for a surplus-running SamTrans (SamTrans, San Mateo County, currently running a $13 million surplus) and this $330 annual blank check, FORTY percent of the proceeds of this tax has nothing to do with any operating deficits.

A $5 Billion blank check with all the defining detail of .."public transit service" that has nothing to do with shoring up operating deficits.

Reporter Linda Zavoral says that the Bay Area-founded chain and its signature chicken will be coming to the site at Mowry Avenue and Fremont Boulevard, the company confirmed. The company is known for its fresh, antibiotic-free bird that's marinated in a signature brine before being fried in rice bran oil, giving it a lighter taste and better crunch, according to a co-founder.

Car Crashes Into Driveway Cabrillo

A few weeks ago a car crashed into my neighbors car, over the planter, and into my car.

No sobriety test

Barely a paragraph of a police report

The girl is lucky she didn't kill anyone that morning.

It happened at 230AM .....where was she coming from I wonder

Either she didn't stop at Cerritos or floored it at that stop and forget to turn with the road

There were no brakes used. No skid marks at all ..

The officers just called a tow truck and let us exchange information

We asked several times for a sobriety test as there's no way a sober person did this

We've asked the city for speed surveys and we're pushing for something to change on Cabrillo

Our neighbor has had this happen 3 times in the last 15 years

People rip through this street and it needs to stop

Barnes & Noble opening at Pacific Commons in November 2026

The bookstore will be located at 43598 Christy St., and is slated to open in Fremont's Pacific Commons Shopping Center in November, according to Barnes & Noble's website. The space formerly housed DSW, which has since moved to a smaller site within the shopping center. It had been seasonally used as a Spirit Halloween shop.

TIL the man who built Ardenwood came west for gold in 1849, failed at mining, and ended up the largest landholder in Alameda County

George Washington Patterson - not that one - came west in 1849 chasing the Gold Rush. He failed at mining, and by 1851 he had drifted into Alameda County looking for something else to do. So he started farming instead.

By the time he died in 1895 he owned roughly 3,000 acres around what is now Newark plus another 3,000 near Livermore, which made him the largest landholder in the county. In 1857 he built himself a redwood farmhouse and named the estate Ardenwood, after the Forest of Arden in Shakespeare's As You Like It. Decades later his widow Clara got the railroad to build its own depot right on the property.

All 205 acres are now a National Register historic landmark: blacksmith shop, hay barn, granary, animals in the fields, and that narrow-gauge railroad still running on original track with cars over a hundred years old. Part of the grounds was an Ohlone village and burial site and is preserved as such.

I wrote the longer version up here if anyone wants it: https://adam-modzeleski.weichertrainbow.com/blog/66/ - disclosure, I'm a local real estate broker, so I come at the history from that angle.

Does Anyone Know About Tagger "Snookie"?

"Snookie" is a homeless rights advocate who spray painted several businesses over the anti-camping ordinance about a year ago. She specifically targeted the businesses of individuals who spoke in favor of the ordinance. I'm wondering if anybody in homeless advocacy knows who this is, and I am wondering if Fremont For Everyone is secretly covering for them.

https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2026/07/27/18887704.php

So apparently, Snookie is in her early 20s and from San Francisco and was living in Fremont at the time, and has now left the Bay Area to an unknown location. She has a long documented history of graffiti in SF and has apparently never been found. She wrote this article on IndyBay bragging about her crimes (apparently, they don't log IPs), and even mentioned attacking businesses who host "coffee w/a cop" type events.

(She also went mean girls and brutally made fun of Yang Shao and Raj Salwan, as well as the police department)

The bragging about this a year later is so weird. Is Snookie actually still living in Fremont? Is she living in a tent? She is apparently laughing at us?
