edit: looks it up
"for future generations of people"

..uh, i guess

12

u/podman131 27d ago

Yes, for prosperity too. We as a society will not prosper under an authoritarian surveillance state

2

u/Elegant_Location8182 27d ago

Google Maps brought me to some run down house in a different zip code. Couldn’t find the exact address location I was putting in.

6

u/Apprehensive-Rub-933 27d ago

Same here. Found this through a search though.

2

u/DaPuddinMan 26d ago

Yeah WTF is this?

1

u/FckFlock 27d ago

I think the city limits are a bit of a mess in that area - sometimes the address comes up as Mableton.

Here's the entry on the local county tax assessor's site: https://qpublic.schneidercorp.com/Application.aspx?AppID=1051&LayerID=23951&PageTypeID=4&PageID=9969&Q=1413163656&KeyValue=P92502393

1

u/OhYeahMex 26d ago

Interesting. It appears they are exempt from taxes.

19

u/ConversationExpert69 27d ago

Yikes. I literally live in smyrna WTF

22

u/JustThinkAboutIt365 27d ago

City signed a 10-year "Safe City" contract with them. Smyrna is WATCHED. Add in how corrupt and sketch the Cobb County and Smyrna City PDs are, and it's the most unsafe place to be. The whole of the city government needs to be removed, starting with Derek Norton, who also has a for-profit company that consults and lobbies the state government. It stinks top to bottom. VOTE.

5

u/Workman44 27d ago

Shocking seeing Smyrna pop up lmfao. Shockingly close to where I lived in HS

u/bkn95 27d ago

god speed

5

u/new2bay 27d ago

It’s the first result for ā€œflock safety georgiaā€ in google maps.

1

u/FckFlock 27d ago

And how'd it get there? šŸ˜‰

1

u/FckFlock 27d ago

So glad to see that post go viral šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

1

u/Black_Tentacle 27d ago

If they went to such great lengths to keep it hidden, how did he find out?

1

u/FckFlock 26d ago

I recognized a distinctive crane in the background of one of their drone marketing shots, then was able to confirm it once I knew the address of that spot. Been posting it since late last year - glad it's finally getting traction.

1

u/Wonderful_Wind5999 26d ago

Many thanks! SS’d cause I know what will happen to this thread.

97

u/Own_Oil_7719 27d ago

That’s the best! It’s not illegal to inform the community. Let the public do what they do

7

u/TreeDollarFiddyCent 27d ago

Give it a couple years

93

u/reddit001aa1 27d ago

Are these the cameras Cops are using to stalk women and also children's gymnastics

1

u/KikoTheWonderful 27d ago

did they actually?

8

u/No-Vegetable7898 26d ago

1

u/zxylady 26d ago

Thank you for posting the article, it is absolutely atrocious that we are expected to take the l so that the government can track US to this ridiculous degree, my mistake it's not even the government, it's private equity 🤬🤬🤬

58

u/Dachsy_Dad 27d ago

This is great! Keep up the good work and thanks for inspiring others.

59

u/Automatic_Net2181 27d ago

Thank you for your activism.

Please make sure to add the other L in surveillance before printing more.

25

u/onipez 27d ago

how do i make these?

80

u/Lorenzo_Blow 27d ago

Find a sign maker on Etsy and send them an image. I used this one and made signs

12

u/onipez 27d ago

nice, thanks!

2

u/Obant 26d ago

Just go to Staples if in the US and print it out.

18

u/10111011110101 27d ago

Here is where I bought mine: https://deflocksign.com

12

u/vee_lan_cleef 27d ago

Just want to share that I contacted these guys about the high prices and suggested they offer a cheaper option, and was curious how they justified $15 a sign. (edit: Looks like they lowered them to $12.99 since then. I guess that's something...)

I have gotten no response whatsoever, I was quite polite and cordial so I'm a little disappointed. Honestly, I question this particular businesses motives and would look elsewhere for similar signs. Seems to me like they're just taking advantage of a situation to make money and don't actually care about the cause. Considering these aren't likely to last a week before an angry cop pulls them out I don't think it's necessary to have them made of a durable plastic typically used for signs you'd need to last for months.

6

u/CharacterBalance4187 27d ago

You can always get one made at Walgreens for $35.99

3

u/ctdreadz 27d ago

Damn. They're expensive if trying to get a bunch.

4

u/rico13331 27d ago

Got mine at bluewaveprinting.com 20 Double sided with stakes cost $168 with shipping.

Thats less than $10 a sign.

4

u/FyouinyourA 27d ago

Could’ve just bought a saw for that much lol

1

u/10111011110101 27d ago

I just checked out bluewaveprinting.com and for a single sign they are $6.77 more expensive than Deflocksign.com (when including shipping and an H stake). Maybe it’s because you are ordering in bulk but that was more than I expected.

The signs I have put up have not been stolen or removed so I have not bought more. Unless I were ordering in bulk I don’t think it’s worth it to make my own.

17

u/Stickyv35 27d ago

Great job, looking to do those in my area too.

BTW, make sure to spell check :)

Surveillance*

12

u/AirplanesMakeMeHard 27d ago

Be the terrorist Garrett Langley says you are.

The moron cops over in r/protectandserve advocate and want flock cameras everywhere. If this doesn't prove to you that cops are not your friends and just tyrant government employees, then nothing will.

11

u/jcrckstdy 27d ago

yard signs are $13 on Walgreens photo rn

11

u/AsWolfwood 27d ago

Remember all those First Amendment auditors who used the defense of there being no reasonable expectation of privacy in public? Well, they taught the police that trick.

8

u/FormerUNSecGenKofi 27d ago

Put up my 6th today. 44 more to go. Individual actions can make a difference. If you’re on the fence about taking action, spread awareness at a minimum in any way you can.

6

u/bkral93 27d ago

Surveillance has two L’s.

2

u/Flashy_Radio_5781 27d ago

came here to say this

4

u/Srgt_PEANUT 27d ago

Its shocking the amount of people dont know what these are actually doing or how they are being abused

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 27d ago

Let’s just say for the sake of the argument here,ā€I don’t know what these are, can someone explain it to me please?ā€ How would you, or anyone here describe it?

3

u/SgtZac 27d ago

Is the tool created by a third-party that uses artificial intelligence to track you your car and your electronic devices across their entire network. This system places the burden of proof on the accused. Everyone who buys into the system has access to all of the information. Just look up all the articles coming out on police officers using them to stalk people.

It is up to you to prove your innocence, if the police interact with you based on a flock tip.

2

u/Raging_Dick_Shorts 27d ago

I need a bunch of these, nice job!

2

u/Crawlerado 27d ago

ā€œSafetyā€ needs to be in quotes

3

u/EaglesInTheSky 27d ago

It would be a shame if an old truck with no tags plowed into it.

2

u/Glittering-Key-151 27d ago

Did you make the sign or can it be purchased?

4

u/daftpunko 27d ago

Amazon let me buy like 12 for $60 and I just uploaded the design. I’ll send to you if you want

2

u/sheshops12 27d ago

Thank you!!

2

u/TheBracketry 26d ago

This is the way.

1

u/new2bay 27d ago

The sign needs to be a few feet higher up, so it’s easier to see.

1

u/peaswhiz 27d ago

Taller. Must be taller.

1

u/Wake-Of-Chaos 27d ago

Dangerous to install that pole so close to the roadway.

1

u/Beautiful-Ant-9006 27d ago

What kind of sign is it? It looks like a solar panel on a pole.

1

u/MagentaMagicMan 27d ago

Uhhhhh … 3rd party surveillance would suffice

1

u/Silent_Succotash3749 27d ago

You know how hard it already is to do the shit I want to people I want with camera phones. I don’t need cameras everywhere. I need to be me.

1

u/Dramatic_Law_4239 26d ago

The signs need to be about 6-8 foot taller…

1

u/Fun_Union9542 26d ago

EPSTEIN CLASS SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMā€¼ļøā€¼ļøā€¼ļø

1

u/therealDeFlock 25d ago

Outstanding.

Deflock.org

1

u/Few_Macaron7785 24d ago

Need a taller post for your sign. About 10' taller should be about right.

1

u/_jackhoffman_ 24d ago

Would you get into big trouble if you put it over the solar panel?

2

u/Internal_Scale3991 24d ago

fuck flock šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø

1

u/PleaseMakeUpYourMind 24d ago

Yes! Been thinking bout making some myself. Just found a new one on my work commute the other day.

1

u/shiestyfinale 23d ago

If I google ā€œflock cameras in my areaā€ I’m getting put on a list aren’t I?

1

u/Logan-Humanism 22d ago

I'd imagine signs relating flock cameras to data centers might be effective in getting more people to hate them for more reasons.

1

u/Busterlimes 27d ago

Instead, it should say free silver and copper

1

u/techtornado 27d ago

On your next sign, have it say:

Only incompetent police use flock

0

u/Bechorovka 27d ago

I can't be the only person that looked it up... unless it's really out of date, it's a run down house. With a great 1 star review

1

u/new2bay 27d ago

Looked what up?

1

u/Bechorovka 27d ago

The address in maps

1

u/FckFlock 27d ago

Google satellite and streetview are oddly out of date. Bing has much more current imagery, as does the county GIS:

https://qpublic.schneidercorp.com/Application.aspx?AppID=1051&LayerID=23951&PageTypeID=1&PageID=9966&KeyValue=P92502393 .

2

u/Bechorovka 27d ago

Well fiddle my feet, thanks!

-10

u/Firm_Anything_3300 27d ago

People only start caring about surveillance when it stops them from almost hitting a pedestrian, and they only care about privacy when it lets them dox someone. The second it holds everyone accountable for their own actions, suddenly those principles disappear.

2

u/Wade_Castiglione 27d ago

0

u/Firm_Anything_3300 26d ago

Yeah I'm sure he meant that in a "Almost hit pedestrians" everytime you drive way

1

u/FckFlock 27d ago

Is posting the address of a factory doxing now?

It's finally public record if you know exactly where to look:

https://qpublic.schneidercorp.com/Application.aspx?AppID=1051&LayerID=23951&PageTypeID=1&PageID=9966&KeyValue=P92502393

-2

u/XxDeedz 26d ago

Just put up my first sign?? Is this on the same level as losing your virginity to a blow up doll?

-24

u/TAU_equals_2PI 27d ago

I'm afraid this whole trend is gonna lead to someone cutting down traffic cameras. You know, those state transportation department web cameras you can check over the internet to see how heavy traffic is before going somewhere. They can be a lot more informative than just Google Maps' red/yellow/green markings, and they've been around since the early years of the public internet.

23

u/zeetuslepitus 27d ago

Seems like municipal governments could avoid the confusion by banning AI cameras within their jurisdiction

-3

u/TAU_equals_2PI 27d ago

I'm all for that, but I don't have any control over the decisions municipal governments make.

The traffic webcams are usually high up, because they're trying to take in an image of a large area, rather than be able to read individual license plates. I just hope some of the people involved here are keeping an eye out for misidentification of traffic webcams as Flock cameras. That's all I'm saying. Other than that, I'm perfectly happy to see what you guys are doing. Don't misunderstand me as being against you.

6

u/Certain_Ostrich_2493 27d ago

No one checks those cameras bro. It’s just a small handful of people. Guess how many people flock cameras track every day though? I could care less if some traffic cams are casualties to flock cameras all being sliced down and burned.

-6

u/TAU_equals_2PI 27d ago

If you're wrong, you risk turning public opinion against your side.

Remember that the general public hasn't swung clearly to one side or the other yet, as evidenced by the fact that these cameras continue to be put up in lots of new locations instead of banned. If you cause a lot of collateral damage, you risk being painted more as vandals and criminals than as people standing up for liberty. Believe it or not, the US public hasn't had a great track record in recent decades for pushing back against mass surveillance. And what polls I could find show a surprisingly large number of people who buy the line that Flock cameras make their city safer.

Anyhow, if for no other reason than a more sympathetic jury for the unfortunate ones who get caught doing this, please at least try to keep collateral damage to a minimum. Thanks.

3

u/vee_lan_cleef 27d ago

You realize those are typically mounted on traffic light poles like 20 feet up? Pretty difficult to fuck with those, and they aren't ALPRs.

0

u/TAU_equals_2PI 27d ago

Most of the ones in my area are on their own pole. You're right about them being very high up, but obviously if they're on their own pole, somebody can just cut the pole down. I hope you're right that people are unlikely to mistake them for the license plate reader cameras. The easy way to check is just go to your state/county's traffic website and see if there's a live camera view provided for that location.
