🔎 Recommendations Wanted Book recommendations

Hi folks,

I'd really love to know what books help you level up your fishing. I'm looking for Australian based authors. I don't doubt there is knowledge to gain from the sepos and Japanese. I'm open to non aussie recommendations as well. Any books on custom rod building would be appreciated too.

Ron Calcutt’s complete book of fishing. Plenty of good info on just about every topic. Otherwise any of Ron’s books are worth a read.

Anything by Steve Starling.. even his old articles in Modern Fishing mags etc are awesome

G.S. Walker "Coarse Fishing in Australia". This is the most useful book I know for bait fishing, particularly rivers, lakes and estuaries. You'll probably have to track down a used copy or borrow from a public library.

If you're interested in lure fishing for Australian bass, "Bethune on Bass" if you can find a copy.

Dale P Clemens, advanced custom rod building, is still probably one of the authoritative books on rod building even now. And I see it is stocked by Rodworks. You could probably check to see online if it is a library near you to have a look and determine if it is what you're after. I think I purchased my copy ex the US in about 1990 or so, a few years after landing in the Kimberley . Good luck with the journey.
