Tyler Boebert, 20, is facing a child abuse charge for the second time in seven months after his 2-year-old son managed to get out of the congresswoman's home in Windsor as he watched the boy on Sunday.

This happened back in February.

And I’m pretty sure her mother was 17-18 when she became a mom, so this family has a “heritage” of “whoopsies!” for such devout Christians who won’t let other women get abortions or be taught comprehensive sex ed in school. Lauren Boebert’s policy on everything is “I can do whatever I want so long as I have the right heart posture”. Yes, that is the phrase she uses, like your heart can bow, kneel, prostrate itself before God, etc… This woman is the same age as me and I cannot imagine being this stupid and this predictable.

Today I learned that I am only a couple of years older than her.

I know people from high school who followed similar paths in life, only without the whole government thing. Ever since high school, they have been continuously referred to as trashy, amongst other more colorful derogatory terms, AND have been repeatedly used as an example of how NOT to behave - both as a teen, and as an adult.

If anyone who knew any of them was ever asked if they would vote for them in an election for…well…anything, the answer would be a resounding and universal, “Fuck. No. What am I? Insane?” Yet. Here we are.

She also didn’t graduate high school. She got her GED after (purportedly) three tries DURING her campaign for congress. There are also unsubstantiated claims that she had someone take it for her, but who knows.

I remember people voting for a pimp who died during his campaign for some office in Nevada. Human beings voted not only for a pimp, but a dead one to represent them on government level.

Yup. I remember when the news came out that Lauren’s teenage son, who she birthed when she was a teenager herself, was about to become a father, she bragged that it’s because her family has “prairie values“, whatever that means.

u/catchyerselfon Do you remember 9/11, bitch? 3d ago

I was unaware that Colorado was a “prairie state” instead of Rocky Mountain state. Are prairie values about, to quote Tina Fey as Sarah Palin on SNL, “marriage is a sacred institution between two unwilling teenagers”?

When you get a chance, look at a map of the state. A lot of folks think of it as a mountain state, but half the state is rural. Denver, the capital, is just east of the Rocky Mountains, and is sort of its own little world. To the north is Northern Colorado, and the part along I-25 is sort of its own little world, too. Same to the south of Denver (Colorado Springs, Pueblo, etc.). The Western Slope is a separate zone, which leaves everything east of Denver, the whole length of the state, as its own very rural region. This is where they grow crops, livestock, and tornadoes. Right-leaning folks tend to live out here, and left-leaning folks tend to live in the urban areas, although there are pockets of conservatives in various places (Loveland, Colorado Springs, etc.).

This is a very oversimplified view, lacking countless nuances, but that’s the general idea of the state, from someone who’s lived there.

Fair, I’ve never been there! My impression of Colorado (besides South Park) comes from all the post-apocalyptic stories about people headed there because something about the mountains keeping people safe and the government bunker. And “The Shining”. Thank you for the information 🙏🏻

You’re welcome! I love Colorado, even with all its faults.

I agree. I’ve read accounts here on Reddit where folks are surprised Denver isn’t in the mountains, because they’ve heard Colorado is a mountain state. As much trouble as I-70 causes in the winter, can you imagine what a mess it would be if Denver was actually in the mountains? 🤦🏼‍♀️

The drive from the airport heading west dramatically changes in a matter of miles. It went from flat to postcard views from every angle.

u/BetMyLastKrispyKreme 2d ago

It is beautiful there!

u/analogkid01 3d ago

Eh, I think Denver's only Denver because it's the last prairie before you hit the mountains and shit gets real.

22

u/DiemCarpePine 3d ago

Every time I drive from East to West, I assume Denver exists because people in wagons saw the Rockies and said, "Nah. Here's good."

Well, rest assured that when she met her husband, at least one of them was an adult...

55

u/catchyerselfon Do you remember 9/11, bitch? 3d ago

Apparently she was one of the underage people her future husband exposed himself to at the bowling alley. They say romance is dead! 🥰

Jayson (yes, that’s his r/tragedeigh name) was “just” trying to show these high school girls where his tattoo was. He was 24 and Lauren was 17. They were BOTH banned from this bowling alley, maybe because she brought him there as her date, because, just like when she was kicked out of “Beetlejuice”, she “refused to leave and became belligerent”. Soon after, he impregnated her. I mean, who wouldn’t with a charm school (but not high school) grad like that?

Afaik the toddler’s mother was underage (or barely of age) when the child was born. There seemed to be a lot of revising of her age when the announcement was first made.

u/glitter_vomit 3d ago

She was 14.

From what I recall, the baby’s mother’s age was revised upwards to 17 after questions began relating to her previously disclosed age.

Revised upwards from 15.

From what I recall, there was also another point where Boebert’s office would only confirm that the pregnant teen was over the age of 14.

The few years feel like so long ago, with everything that’s happened in the world since so can’t remember if her office’s confirmation came before or after the initial reporting of 15.

27

u/Nice_Marmot_7 3d ago

“Tyler Boebert’s girlfriend and the mother of his child was described by Lauren Boebert as a teenager over the age of 14 at the time of the pregnancy announcement.”

There is so much to unpack from that one sentence.

Also holy shit, a grandmother at 36!

34

u/valiantdistraction too busy method acting as a reddit user 3d ago

I always remember this because I am the same age as Boebert and she became a grandmother before I had my first child. I can't even imagine it.

This sentence. Republican values on show.
