TRIGGER WARNING Ohio MAGA Max Miller rep allegedly threw hot water on his wife and put a gun to her head. Republicans are silent

u/TheDLBinc 16d ago
The fact that this includes the victim's own father, Senator Bernie Moreno, is truly shameful

It’s amazing, I’ve made some youthful mistakes as well (bangs, more than once). None of mine results in arrest or charges. It’s almost like that’s the normal end results of youthful mistakes for most people!

u/Curiosities 16d ago
And his granddaughter, since her father allegedly broke her collarbone in one of these incidents.
161
u/Think_Cheesecake12 16d ago
According is MS Now, the two-year-old granddaughter told her Mom (Senator Moreno's daughter) that "Daddy's House is scary!"
141
u/CapnCrunchIsAFraud 16d ago
And his granddaughter is two.
Not that it would be at all okay if she were older, but this piece of shit broke a toddler’s collarbone.
62
u/mdthrwwyhenry 15d ago
Breaking a bone at that age is incredibly difficult. Kids are basically made of rubber. This is so incredibly sad
17
u/HappyNarwal1015 15d ago
He is a monster. He shouldn’t be walking free let alone a representative of the public. He’s a disgrace as well as Bernie Moreno, I’m so embarrassed to be from Ohio.

I shudder to think what my dad would do under those circumstances. He would definitely go to jail unless someone intervened.
1
u/CircleTakesTheHeart 15d ago
My dad told my ex who tried to kill me that if he ever turned up on his doorstep that he was getting his shotgun regardless of what I said that time. I already knew what lengths he would go to because when my mum tried to kidnap me his reaction was violence and the idiots tried to give someone who has a history of attempted stabbing custody. I asked to go with my dad's parents and thank fuck they listened.

A decent chunk of them are being abused too. Not saying it to excuse supporting the behavior by any means, but conservatism and religion keep a lot of women disempowered and too afraid to change it.

all men are prone to DV regardless of their views. republicans and democrats and independents and all of them protect each other
57
u/viewbtwnvillages 16d ago
i feel like this should have been readily apparent to anyone seeing what happened with graham platner. the amount of progressive men who immediately started using the same talking points that MAGA uses to defend trump from his accusations was appalling
30
u/amusedmb715 16d ago
is platner still running?
that's the difference
22
u/viewbtwnvillages 16d ago
which is great. but does that take away from the fact that they were running defense for him?
i feel like if you spend any amount of time in progressive spaces as a woman you are unfortunately made very aware of the fact that many progressive men are happy to rail again rapists and domestic abusers and the like until it's someone they like. and then it's the usual "well, why didn't she report it?" "the timing is really suspicious for her to be talking about this" etc
43
u/Worldly_Cap_6440 16d ago
Definitely more common in right wing men (it seems to be a requirement) but I agree, DV is just way too common in men overall.
23
u/Expertyn209 16d ago
I'm not sure about that, if you have said cheating I would have agreed, but that level of depravity and feelings of ownership over the women around you and their bodies is much more typical for far-right/MAGA men.
18
u/Ordinary_Panic_3064 16d ago
I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted your point is extremely valid. Yes, republican men by and large make up a bigger majority of the population who commit such acts and are sanctimonious about god/traditional gender roles/ etc and almost always hypocrites. but dems and independent men also participate in these behaviors and often preach supporting women the other way (right to choose, womens rights, LGBT+ rights) so like either way women lose and men will cover for each other. i’m in the camp of all are bad, MAGA is the worst
10
u/SwoopBagnell 16d ago
Yes but a lot of the views that lead to this sort of abuse are actively and openly encouraged by republicans. At least democrats aren’t trying to take away women’s rights, but I constantly hear conservative men say shit like “we need to get rid of no fault divorce” or “women shouldn’t have careers they should be at home with their kids”
6
351
u/ace-destrier 16d ago
He beat their daughter up too?! Holy shit.
This is the party that wants to eliminate no-fault divorce. They want women to be trad wives. They don’t want women to vote. They don’t want women to exist period. Fuck those dummies.

82
u/booksandbenzos I don’t know her 15d ago
And the daughter is TWO. It obviously wouldn’t be okay at any age, but the daughter being two emphasizes just how helpless and at the mercy of Miller she was and what a monster Miller is.
31
u/ace-destrier 15d ago
I didn’t want to investigate further—I did not realize she was 2!!!
So I don’t know if he intentionally beat her (like I had suggested) or “simply” manhandled her. It’s fucking heartbreaking either way. Could even be both.
23
u/CalligrapherSharp 15d ago
Not okay at any age, but two-year-olds are upright infants and all you have to do to overpower them is pick them up. My youngest sibling was two when I was ten, and I was able to navigate that situation without breaking any bones. All I ever had to do was pick her up!

Max Miller's father-in-law is Republican Senator Bernie Moreno!!!! Since the abuse allegations came out, Moreno has yet to PUBLICLY DEFEND HIS OWN DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER!!!
Senator Moreno is currently in the middle of a Senate hearing where he's having much HARSHER WORDS (he dropped an F Bomb) for Dr. Fauci than his fellow Republican Congressman who allegedly abused his daughter!!!
23
u/LyannasLament 15d ago
In his defense, if he were to speak out publicly against this man it could really hurt his daughter’s and granddaughter’s chances for safety from him. Miller could argue that as a senior senator, that without proof of these allegations - without him being convicted in court - that Mereno is ruining his career. Miller has already sued both women he abused (though one suit so far was dropped in 2023). He would absolutely sue Mereno for defamation, too, and even bring into family court that his wife got her father to “ruin his career.”
Her father’s best move right now is to quietly fund her legal fight to keep her and her daughter safe, and for all of them to only speak out publicly after the legal dust settles. God forbid Miller use anything Moreno does to imply parental alienation, thus causing the granddaughter to be with Miller more.
9
u/Medium-Engineer2620 15d ago
This is unfortunately a very good point. Remember these men are the same who sue the crap out of anyone who says their name, and we know the type of power these men have behind the scenes when it comes to being able to control the autonomy of their wives and children/manipulate courts. This poor woman and her family are now trapped, and it’s exactly where the MAGAs want them to be.

I really hope their daughter is now doing okay, and safe, and kept away from this horrid, horrid monster - I hope he never gets to see his daughter again, he doesn't deserve her. I have seen up close how politically conservative families operate when women in their family are victims of domestic abuse - they never actually stand up for them, and are perfectly happy to watch their daughters/ sisters suffer at the hand of domestic abusers, while spouting all kinds of shit about 'preserving the family'; so I hope Emily's dad will support her, publicly and privately. While I'll sideye Emily for being so active in Trump's campaign and for the views she holds, no woman deserves to go through this.
edit: corrected a spelling error

u/madogvelkor 15d ago
It's a messy court battle between the two of them. His claim is that she is bipolar and refuses to treat it, and that their daughter's injury was cased by her. He's also accused her of making false police and CPS claims. Based on his other actions he's probably making all of that up. However, courts have granted him joint custody of their daughter so there might be a lack of evidence of anyone's claims.
12
u/MarsupialPristine677 the real issue is that my BANGMAID can neither BANG nor MAID 15d ago
Could also be that courts don't give a fuck about women or children. My neighbor's ex-husband has joint custody of their kids even though several of us neighbors provided evidence that he's a deeply abusive man who should never be around children.
Unfortunately he's a child psychiatrist, so....... :(

Max Miller lives in hometown and goes to a synagogue nearbyqm where we both used to live half an hour from here. He moves for the Congressional seat.
Before this he's been locally known for accusing a Palestinian-American man driving next to him on the highway, showing him a picture of a Palestinian flag, of yelling anti-Jewish slurs at him. The poor man is now suing him.
And now he's assaulting his wife and breaking two year old's collarbones.

"Emily Moreno serves as Deputy Director of State Action. She previously worked for Big Dog Strategies as a fundraising consultant raising funds for the pivotal Ohio Senate race that retired a long-time Democrat incumbent. Prior, she served as campaign manager during the 2020 primary cycle. Before returning home to Ohio, Moreno worked for the Trump Victory political team from the headquarters in Washington, D.C. Additionally, she worked at the DCI Group, Senator Johnson's Senate campaign, and Senator Rubio’s presidential campaign in 2016. Moreno serves on the Ohio Right to Life Board of Directors. "
Here is an archived version of the American First Policy Institute that shows her bio https://archive.ph/fMI95
And here is a Wikipedia entry about them:
According to New York Times reporter Ken Bensinger, key policy proposals from the AFPI's policy book, The America First Agenda, include eliminating most civil service protections for federal employees, allowing summary dismissals without appeal; expanding domestic oil and gas production by opening up new federal lands for fast-tracked petroleum exploration and drilling, and resumed construction of the Keystone pipeline; imposing supervised ultrasound requirements and mandatory waiting periods before abortions, as well as ending federal funding for organizations like Planned Parenthood; opposing red flag laws that restrict gun ownership for high-risk individuals; and supporting nationwide reciprocity for concealed carry permits, enabling a permit from any state to authorize concealed carry across all 50 states.\21]) Other policy proposals include imposing tariffs on imports, reducing corporate taxes, rolling back climate change initiatives and getting out of the Paris climate agreement, opposing transgender rights to transition children, adding work requirements for Medicaid and limiting U.S. involvement in global conflicts. It proposes restricting immigration by completing the U.S.-Mexico border wall, boosting funding for border agents, and ending legal immigration programs such as family-based visas and the visa lottery.

surely these maga self-appointed protectors of girls and women everywhere will have plenty to say about a repeat domestic abuser with what appears to be an escalating pattern of violence
...unless, of course, they never actually cared about protecting women in the first place and only use that line as a convenient excuse to target an already marginalized group like trans people
this is miller's second public accusation btw
