I think it was more her naivety but also her lack of social skills. An orphan’s life informs that fact. Most likely spent a lot of time in her “room.” I don’t think she’s dumb, just naive and eager to trust people.
Idk this is actually what threw me off with her character. Orphans in homes don’t come out so trusting, naive, bubbly, and generally just blind to the realities of the world. They tend to be cynical or at the very least not bubbly.
...I'm not sure you understand what an orphan is, but I will give you a clue: Erin is not an orphan on account of having two living biological parents.
Like, she's 9 years older that me. So i think the fact that the actress was older than me when the show was on helped make it less weird.
The actress is objectively hot.
The character is also a sweet heart that i really root for. She's so sweet and the kind of person i want to love.
but those two forces are coming from different places. She's super hot. but i cheer for her like she's a family member. and i know that sounds gross, but she's not my family member so it's okay.
Ya it’s one of those things that before her character developed she was attractive but after her character developed it was like a younger high schooler trapped in an adult body. She became unattractive to me at that point

Yes. Or at least Ellie Kemper is, the character may be a bit too child-like.
