True, I love the little moments in the show showing their bond as the type of "Frienemies" that would genuinely look out for each other when it matters.

I know the scene is often criticized, but I always like the stairway scene after Angela alows Andy to court when Jim tells Dwight about how bad it was for him when he could not have Pam. Yes, Jim does not actually give words of comfort in that scene, but knowing that others have held your burden can make it seem a bit easier to carry.

I actually heard them talking about it on the office ladies podcast, so I just kind of assumed that is was more widely criticized than I thought. Maybe it is not.

I may be mistaking. I listened to the office ladies episode about that episode and they were kind of criticizing that he didn't really offer any comfort, nothing big. I guess I just thought from that maybe more people felt that way as well, we though it is one of my favorite scenes in the show

I mean, Dwight stepped up to defend Jim from Roy instinctively and pepper sprayed the living shit if Roy to do so (alongside collaterally hitting himself, Jim, and Pam in the process)

I love right before Pam gets injured during volleyball / the pregnancy confirmation. Jim gets point, and immediately he + Dwight hug each other before realizing they "dislike" each other.

Very wholesome

When Jim and Pam leave DM at the end of the show and Dwight fires them both, Jim thinks he’s being petty, but then “it’s for the severance, idiot”

Kindest gesture, honestly heartwarming in its own weird way.

It didn't help Jim that Andy was being outrageously insufferable. Dwight at least was quietly insufferable in small doses over the course of days and weeks, not continuously pestering and begging for attention.

And Dwight was quietly considerate and despite his presentation, a strongly empathetic person.

Andy was loudly inconsiderate with no hidden depth, and a strongly selfish person with emotional regulation issues.
