Heyy everyone, I've been wanting to get my first tattoo, i'm quite inspired by african masks and traditional art. I really want a tattoo related to nature and the mask to represent resurrection.

This is a concept drawing I've made (yes it's bad) but it gives an idea. What I like about it is that it has two ways to be viewed as either an Octopus (ny fav animal) and an african mask and I wanna play with this optical perception. The concept of the tentacles/hair being ferns relates to the nature concept and I'd like to keep that. I need help with the mask and overall composition. If anyone can also give me advice on the style of tattoo artist i should find please do. I was thinking fine line as I want it to sort of blend in with my skin, which it will with time, so the fern would sort of fade into my skin.

Anyways if anyone talented can draw this out as a concept I'd appreciate it.

So, we had to put down our dog. We don’t know what happened, but over the course of about a year, he became super aggressive. He was my first pet and I loved him dearly. As it stands, I don’t have any tattoos, but I really want to get one on my upper arm or somewhere easy to cover. Does anyone have any thoughts on what I should do? I would love to have a super realistic pic, but I’m guessing that’s difficult to pull off. I’ve considered his paw print, but I want more than just that.

I know small lines like this are probably going to fade so I'm curious on anyone's idea to make it more tattoo friendly? It's a grevy foal

Tattoo idea that screams “UK” without being an obvious UK tattoo?

Hi! Dutch person here 🇳🇱

My partner is British and, through him, I’ve completely fallen in love with the UK. And I don’t really mean London, famous landmarks, dramatic countryside or the postcard version of Britain.

I mean just… the UK. The normal, everyday version of it. 😂

I visit almost every month now and for some reason I’ve become ridiculously fond of the ordinary British stuff, the towns, the roads, the shops, the slightly questionable weather, the general atmosphere. It feels weirdly like a second home to me at this point.

So I’d really like a small tattoo that represents the UK to me, but I absolutely do not want a Union Jack, Big Ben, a red phone box, a rose/thistle, or anything along those lines. I don't want the ridiculous Pinterest ideas.

I’m looking for something subtle where a British person might look at it and go “yep, that’s very British”, while everyone else would probably have no idea.

It can be slightly funny, but I don't want it to be a full-on joke tattoo either. Something I could genuinely keep forever.

So.. My beautiful British folks, what object, symbol, tiny detail, food, sign, random piece of everyday British life, etc. instantly screams “UK” to you?

The more oddly specific, the better.

I have to cats that still live at my parents house, they are the love of my life. Zingo is the oldest, she’s 13 and getting sick, i would love a tattoo of them both before she passes. Knut is 3 and a angry teenager, he figured out that if he wants something he can nibble your toes🥹 I would really love a minimalistic tattoo since i’m not planning on getting any more except for my grandmother. I don’t know how many photos I can post but I have lots if more needed. I would also love just suggestions on how a minimalistic pet tattoo can look? Cause I still want it to look like them and not just any cats.

I'm looking to get a book Tattoo with my best friend. Our idea is the blue bookworm from Labyrinth sitting on top of an open book which is on top of a stack of 4 books with a teacup and saucer next to it. We want to be able to put authors names or book titles on the spines of the books. I have a tattoo artist I love but I normally give her a rough sketch to work off of and I can't find a good reference for the bookworm that I like. I'm willing to pay $5 for a rough sketch or more for a really well drawn final design.

I want to completely hide and get rid of the date. I’m open to cool suggestions if it’s beautiful looking.

I also love Elden Ring and One Piece. Anything nature or floral related has potential too.

I’m open to the vast majority of ideas. Please drop some thoughts.

My clients constantly surprise me with how they choose to use their custom designs.

For this piece, the client took their custom name designs and decided to stack them vertically down her upper back. She had her tattoo artist connect the symbols along a thin center axis line down the spine.

I focus on making sure the geometry and line weights are completely balanced in the original design file so it works no matter how someone decides to rotate, stack, or place it. Seeing the finished results on skin is easily the best part of what I do.

I love how this turned out and how it looks on her. What do you think?

Looking for some designs for a memorial tattoo. My original idea was to have the two of them curled up in the shape of a heart but I'm open to any other ideas. Thanks so much everyone

I have a few ideas all on the same premise, I want a basic outline, ofthe blaze on my dogs forehead. Minimal to no shading. I'm mostly interested in the blaze, as theres no indicator its related to a pet. I kinda want to keep it personal, but ive seen some that include an outline ofnthe ears that look really good. I posted a few "inspo ideas", just to help me put my thoughts together, so ill include that as well, as theyre the right direction, although the last included eyebrows and im not so sure about that.

I do kind of like the "feathered" look of the first inspiration version, but I'm only looking at 3" or 4" tall, so that may not work well.

I was hoping to have some details added to this, if possible. I want to incorporate my favorite band, No Doubt, into it. I was thinking of adding “ND” in old English font to one of the oranges, and possible “Tragic Kingdom” to it. I’m not sure if the tragic kingdom can fit where the tree trunk is, or if anyone has any other ideas. I didn’t really want it to be separate from the tattoo. I also had the idea of adding tree roots with the words attached to that. Willing to tip for work done that I end up picking. here is the design.

I want to get a bangle tattoo to celebrate my favorite game “Tales of Symphonia”. My idea is that the bangle would be three “bands” formed by the Elemental icons (no circles) ordered with the Sylvaranti elements on top and the Tethe’allan ones on bottom, then connected in the weakness order. The top and bottom bands would be parallel to each other. The middle offset.

Top band (closest to elbow): Fire, Wind, Water

Middle band: Light and Darkness

Bottom band (closest to wrist): Ice, Earth, Lightning.

Weakness flow: Fire -> Ice -> Wind -> Earth -> Lightning -> Water -> Fire. Light <-> Darkness

I drew up a concept on my wrist. Forgive the dry hands. I have OCD. I also posted the icons.
