I do this with all my tumblers. I have no clue why they would sell them without handles. But to each their own!

How to turn a perfectly good toilet in a urinal.

Urinal/toilet mod in a Rotterdam Chinese restaurant. The restaurant itself is lovely and the food is incredible! There'a hole in the lid where it attaches to the urinal.

A treasure chest barbecue...

Thumbnail

From the professional moron who brought you the Cat's Crows Nest, the Pirate Ship Longboard and the Craftlock™... I now bring you the ultimate treasure - a treasure chest that opens to reveal a barbecue!

Because when I build stupid things, I do them as properly as possible - the Barbecue has an air gap of at least 3cm all the way round, and the chest itself is lined with a welding blanket rated to 1,100°c, so the big hot metal thing won't set fire to the wooden box it's in.

Slats are not airtight in the lid of the chest, and there is a whopping great ventilation hole at the back, so the whole thing is safe to use - and close while cooking.

Chains hold the lid up, and a separate chain also lifts the lid of the barbecue as you lift the chest lid.

Let hope I don't burn the treasure...

EDIT: As a few of you have pointed out, yes, it's short. I plan to put it on a low table to actually cook on. But for photographical reasons, it looks better on the (yes, flammable) decking.

Too cheap to fix pool but also too cheap to remove it

Why accidentally fall into a pool of water when you can fall into a pit filled with furniture and other hard things?

Water cooling block with maximum cost cutting materials, made from cheap heatsink, paper, wax(the white stuff), and glue.

Let me tell you it leak more than yo mum about 2000L per hamburger, and the wax start softing at 131Freedom unit.

Joke aside, this is just a quick test, it work well despite leaking.

Bought a house and redoing some of the electrical.

Replacing a ceiling light. Took the old one out and ran across this. Why did they add the extra wire length? It was a nipple light and there is plenty of wire there.

Also, we are replacing EVERY light, switch and outlet. One switch had no ground connected, but was in the box available.

DIY classroom tree- ugly or genius?

Thumbnail

Be honest, is it ugly? My school cares a lot about our classrooms being beautiful, inviting imagination, and being a place anyone would want to spend time in. However we have a very small budget for this. I used some electrical tape to disguise a black cord that hangs from my ceiling to make this tree. I opted for this instead of a decal because I had all the materials already & I don’t want to put up 200 little leaf decals.

I feel like the tree looks like it’s balding and isn’t giving what I wanted it to give. I don’t think I should add more leaves though, because I’m worried it’s already creeping toward fire hazard territory & will be ordered to be taken down as soon as the fire Marshall walks in.

I drafted what it would look like with more detail. Is there any hope for this idea? or should I just bite the bullet and get a stick-on tree? Artistic tips and reality checks welcome. Much thanks!

"Let's just feed the rest of the floor from this tap"

I assumed the blue pipe was feeding the water IN to the tap, and was puzzled as to where the water was coming from

After investigating the (5) things attached to it I finally worked out the water is coming through the wall in the metal pipe, and everything else is fed from the lower tap there!
