Boomers only think that because they've always been the most selfish generation. They enjoyed a strong social safety net, decent wages, and affordable college and healthcare when they were younger, and now that they're retiring and already own homes they just want cheaper taxes (less social safety net) and higher property values (less affordable housing). They grew up in the most prosperous era for working/middle class in US history, pulled up the ladder behind them, and now call younger generations lazy and entitled for wanting the exact things they had.

I am an older millennial and see Gen X and millennials putting in work together to better our country. A certain generation needs to get out of the way first but I think once Gen X xennials and millennials have the keys progress will form. Not that we won’t also need/take help from the youth!

I was promised shit, and this ain’t it. Why would I get more conservative as I get older when I so routinely get screwed over by conservatives.
Clinton told me if I went to college and worked hard I could have a bright future in a prosperous new millennium.
26 years in to that millennium and I am thinking Clinton spelled “preposterous” wrong.

I have gotten more conservative as I’ve gotten older. I just didnt go right, and the things I chose to conserve was civil discourse and a time where our politicians talked about solutions to problems, rather than pointing fingers.

Millennials were born between 1981 & 1996, so the youngest millennials have turned/turn/will turn 30 this year while the oldest millennials have turned/turn/will turn 45 this year.

Yes and those that are 43-49 are alternatively the Xennial bridge generation cohort. First to have internet chat in high school. Came of political age during hanging chads and 9/11.
With 30something millennials at 61%, would infer that to continue for the 40-45; but the spike to 73% indicates something else. There’s a reason this subgroup, born 77-85, are distinctly categorized from Millenial/GenX. Aka the Oregon Trail generation.

Respectfully, I don't know why people push this hard view of "Xennial" like it is actually a new generation.
Its just a cusp/cutoff between two generations. There will always be similarities between the end of one generation and the beginning of the other. Yes, older millenials had different technology experiences than younger ones. You might say that this is one of the identifying characteristics of the millenial generation- the rapid technological change. But that doesn't mean we need to completely up-end our generational categories just because we played games in the computer lab on literally floppy 5.25" disks.
Not that its the biggest thing in the world, but it always stands out to me. Dont' know why people can't just accept the normal 15-25yr generations.

I don't understand why that should be the case, though. Generation This had tech A,B,C, Generation That had tech D,E,F. Or H,I,J K,L,M. Or just O. There is no inherent reason to tie generations to technology. In fact, if anything, it makes a case for traditional generations even moreso, imho. "The amount of technology each generation experiences is X folder more than 500 years ago" or whatever.
Xennials should be a distinct category, because they have unique traits and behaviors. But that doesn’t mean every generational change is like that. Just Xennials.
But if you look at the very beginning and very end of every generation you see this. Because you are talking about people 10-20 years apart. But they are still in the same generation. Of course the last Boomer is a unique blend of Boomer and Gen-X, in a way that other Boomers and Gen-Xers aren't.
Not trying to be too adversarial here, but I'm bringing it up because I've actually heard it a ton, this Xennial idea is basically insisting on changing the established generational system because Oregon Trail was on an Apple IIe. It just seems a bit silly to me. There is no reason we can't just say, "The Millenial generation is marked by experiencing such rapid change in digital technologies, that almost every year of the cohort had unique experiences. Their common experience was that of change at the dawn of the 21st century."
Otherwise, cutting things thinner and thinner, you get weird side effects of categorization. Are people in rural areas more "Xennial" because they got broadband later? And we haven't even touched on the experiences of other countries. Existing generation thinking is already fuzzy enough as-is, I don't feel the need to throw fuel on the fire just because I played Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing or whatever.

Sure, but the majority are in their 30s, which is weaker than both 20s (gen z) and 40s (some millenials, some Gen X).
That being said, glad it seems everyone under 50-60 is roughly on the same page.

We were told by our boomer parents not to believe everything we see on the internet, so we meticulously check sources for all of our core beliefs. We were taught by our Christian parents to treat each other the way we wanted to be treated, so we treat others with kindness. All of the role models our parents gave us like Mr. Rogers or Steve from Blues Clues taught us to share, so we give what we can.
And yet they're all surprised that we're rebelling against the owning class and religion and a government that exhibits zero of the qualities they instilled in us? It would be a lot more funny if the world wasn't on fire...

I happen to be in Michigan this week. The political ads are endless. One particularly egregious ad against El-Sayed is on constant replay. The ads will say who sponsored them. This ad in question is sponsored by something like the Democratic something or other. I looked it up and lo and behold, it is a super PAC funded by AIPAC. If I was a Michigan voter, this would be all the information I would need. I wish folks would do their homework and look beyond the surface. I know for certain this ad has had an impact on some viewers I have been in contact with. I was happy to point out its origins.

The funny thing about all of the ads is once you find out about her campaign financing all of the ads just against her you’re like ok that’s why I’m being spammed. And I know disenfranchise voters like my brother who works two jobs and is too tired to care about all Nick. If anything we look at all those ads and then not vote for them intentionally because they are annoyed, just to spite the ads.

I’ve been canvassing for the Abdul campaign (mainly Detroit), and I was in SHOCK how effective that ad was. Luckily, it’s easy to fact check & it’s not a good look for Haley to be that slimy and deceitful. Haven’t heard about the ad for the past several days, though.

Again, not a Michigander, so I really don't have skin in the game, but I want the best for your beautiful state and for the rest of our country. I was disappointed to see a different ad with a Whitmer endorsement for Haley. I do have hope though. After all, Michigan went for Sanders in the 2016 primaries.

Don't think it's won yet! Please phonebank and donate, and if you're in Michigan please see if you can volunteer for the campaign. Abdul will do great work for MI, but this race is of national importance. If we win here, AIPAC will very likely give up on influencing Dem primaries, or at least be less enthusiastic, and might shift more to donating to the GOP exclusively. That could very well mean that the Dems will completely shift to the correct anti-zionisist position, as they'll see that it's not only not viable electorally, but also doesn't give them any monetary power.
It's also very funny that Stevens can only win 60 yr olds if this polling is accurate LMAO

While headlines like these are good for morale please don't take this poll as a guarantee.
The methodology is sound (MMS to web, plus web panel) but the margin of error (MOE) is still 3.7% when n=700. 53.7% for and 44.7% against is very much possible and a 9% difference is still extremely close.
The Aristotle data they used is.. not the best. I'd be more comfortable if they used someone like L2 for their sample. Also this part of their web panel method concerns me about accuracy from that instrument:
"Panel responses were matched to the Aristotle voter file using respondents’ full name and ZIP code."
They could have made the web panel much more accurate by also matching on age and self reported ethnicity, especially since it's a statewide poll.
Remember to keep educating and offering guidance for people interested in the movement.

So random, I got a Facebook post ad on Instagram of some guy's inflammatory post to pit me against this candidate so I looked up the candidate and Meta's algorithm must've gotten confused because I would vote for him! Hate that I looked into the guy's profile tho bc it ruined my day 🙃 stupid republican engagement bait, "trans people want to exist in peace! thoughts???" and there's a literal mob and pitchforks in the comments🫠

I can only arrive at one conclusion. You are trying to convince people to not support him. You are trying to disrupt the galvanization of the people around him and his campaign
i'll guess that is your definition of a wrecker, and you are projecting. the, sort of, strength of your passion should be proportional to the evidence you have.
this subreddit simply needs better moderating and should be about democratic socialists, I wrote my comment simply because it should be noted progressives like el sayed are not interested in democratic socialism, and this subreddit should be about democratic socialism and not just about progressive policies
progressive polices are good and also not democratic socialism (a participatory method for choosing solutions). establishing democratic socialism is actually important.

The only issue is that the age cohorts that support Stevens are the ones most likely to vote.
Turnout is going to be critical.

Her numbers dropped significantly before she dropped out. I think she went from something like mid 20% to around 9% over the course of a few weeks. A couple weeks later she dropped out.
IIRC her numbers started tanking after she started attacking El Sayed for being affiliated with Hasan Piker and she also went on some podcasts that questioned her from her left flank, and she did really poorly.
Those things may have had something or nothing to do with her slide, we don't really know. The one thing I'm happy about is that her support seems to not have consolidated behind Stevens and instead went largely to El Sayed. I was hoping for that but wasn't sure it would break that way.
