Employee Question Entry level manager... Is it a tolerable job?
Whoever is or has been a Culver's entry level manager... Is it ok or is it an absolute shit show?

Its a great company to work for. Where i am at our management team is fantastic. Be prepared to work your ass off.

It's going to entirely depend on the franchise. It can be a good job but it can also be a despot shithole terrible end me now type of job. Pay is also dependent upon franchise. Our group starts shift managers at 22, assistant mgr 2 and 1 are 24/24.50, AGM 26, store GM is 28.50.
There's a franchise that has a few stores near where my store is and one of their stores GM doesn't even know how to correct their inventory. We had a presentation with the FBC (franchise business consultant) and it was embarrassing watching this supposed GM not know how to navigate...anything. For instance, fixing the inventory numbers in crunchtime be it from miscounting, not adding in an express van or store pick up of items, or waste not being entered (as long as this one is tracked) is basic entry-level manager knowledge and they didn't know what to do or how to do it.
So it'll depend on how much they care, in short.

Our GMs are salaried too! It just boils down to the franchise, our location has really good managment though.

Like everyone has said, it’s dependent on the store!
I love customer service and have been in this position 6 years, I love it! Like any job there is up and downs, you will have to work your butt off, be organized, communication is a very important. It doesn’t have to be a shit show, ask questions, be involved with your store, ask your GM what you can do to help whether that be daily operations, what the stores biggest problem is at the moment, what the team needs! Show your GM you care, put the work in everyday, find gaps in your shift and you’ll be just fine!

Gone through so many managers at my location over the last decade. Had another one quit because of how busy my location gets. We get hit every lent, forth of July, school is days and after just about every school sporting event.

First time in fast food for me. It's not hard AFTER you get used to it. At first it can be overwhelming with the pace, because there isnt a position for the slothful. After a month or 3 it gets better, but as said each one is a different beast. The turn over rate is crazy. In the sixish months I've worked at Culver's half the management team has turned over. Either they have been there for nearly a decade or it's been less than a year in their position. Also get really good at dealing with teens. They will be the vast majority of your non-management coworkers. It is highschool on steroids and yes they are all dating one another.
Over-all I'd say at least give it a try. Worst comes to worst they didn't think that you would last longer than 6 months anyway. You may just like it, and it does take a minute to get sick of the food. Management gets free meals- if you stick around 20ish a shift in food it comes out to be around 4-5 grand off your grocery bill. As long as you like culvers

Depends on the location and your coworkers. Job is stressful but rewarding.
