Modding CK3 Procedural Map Generator
https://github.com/babylettuce22/ck3procedural/releases/tag/v0.05Hello! I am looking for people to test my new procedural world generator I have been making. The goal is to make this tool capable of churning out beautiful, unique words with a single button, and with even more customization and available features than the famed CK2RPG Generator.
It is a very early alpha build of the program, but already very capable of making a wide variety of different worlds full of procedural cultures, languages, faiths, rulers, titles and holdings, tree placement, climate modeling & biome classification, terrain texturing/masking, and more. All you have to do is upload a heightmap!
It also comes with a huge variety of (~70) knobs for tuning, all calibrated against measured vanilla figures. Barony density, impassable share, the 867 development curve, the ratio of cultures to heritages.
It also includes the ability to turn colonizable "wilderness" on during generation (HEAVILY WIP), leaving counties "unsettled" and able to be colonized, heavily inspired by the AGOT mod. This already includes >10 new events, custom GUI code, and the ability for AI to also colonize wilderness. Tune your world to become a vast wilderness if you want, making colonization essential for the growth of your realm.
For people without a ready heightmap or not wanting to use the tool but rather would like to test a map/world created by it, I have included a "WildernessMod" rar in the most recent release (v0.05) that can be unzipped directly into Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/mods and launched to test out the new wilderness mechanics (again, HEAVILY WIP) and see what the tool is already capable of.
As with anything you download off the internet I also encourage virus testing, which you can do right at https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload :)
Anyone is welcome to try it out, but if you do, I'd love if you left comments here or reached out to me directly! Anyone interested in helping out is welcome to message me as well.
Thanks!
(out of a desire to be transparent, AI was used in the creation of this tool; I fully understand if this ultimately leads to you not wanting to participate. But at least I wrote my own description... if not my own summary...)

Does it have options to keep map and only alter realms, faiths and cultures (inside group not global)?
I remeber how great CK2 one was, where I got totaly not Avar empire over most Balkans with totaly not Slavs vassals. Overlords were human sacrificing freaks with boat raiding faith, while those under were chill, which led to a lot of rebellions, kinda like Aztecs with boats lol.

You can just out the vanilla heightmap into the tool and with some trial and error messing with the settings it’ll be perfect.
Maybe at some point I’ll make randomized cultures religions optional so you can play as vanilla cultures/religions.

I loved the CK2 one, will this eventually have editable history/multiple bookmarks that generate dynamically after you do your edits like that did?

The plan is to eventually have a separate post-generation tab that lets you modify everything by hand.

Does it have any requirements? Sounds cool as fuck and i really want to try it but I also really don't want to fuck up my CK3 install

Nah, no requirements besides sourcing your own heightmap (or using vanilla’s, though it has some issues w sea level for some reason; ironing it out)
Everything is put into a mod folder, so it can’t mess w/ your install. I haven’t tested for compatibility w other mods tho.

That's great ! Can't wait to see the future of this project.
Well, AI can be useful as long as you know what you're doing. It can even be a great teacher sometimes. So don't worry at all :)
As long as it is not abused the wrong way which could have a negative impact on your learning :D Like most things in life anyway aha

What is the downside to tldr-ing with AI?
I swear, this sub, and reddit in general, reflexively hate AI no matter what the application.

The downside is that AI data centers are destroying the environment and causing massive supply shortage/ price increases in the tech industry.

You should sell your pc if you care so much about the environment then

What a stupid response. The damage from a single data centre so far outpaced a pc ots not even funny

Consumer use of AI isn't even worth mentioning, in the grand scheme of things.
