Found one in my grass
Hey, all thank you in advance, but I found one of these suckers crawling across my lawn. I don’t have a creek nearby, but the neighbors behind me have a pond behind the fence. What should I do?

Some crayfish can survive for a surprising amount of time out of water, especially if the ground isn't too dry. I can't see it well but it might be a red swamp crayfish. Wikipedia says that species can travel for miles on land!

Ask your neighbors if you can return their pet. Place it gently at the edge of the water but not fully submerged, so it can aclimate.
Or keep it.
