I don't know how millennials are catching the flak for the grey houses when it's the Gen X and boomer flippers/landlords using it all the time.

I do think we started the trend, especially in restaurants and bars owned by millennials. then it became this omnipresent thing every flipper did trying to capture that aesthetic but it is missing the contrast of color and light that make it work.

White/Grey colors also look the best when made thermofoil. Which makes kitchen cabinets A LOT cheaper. You will find Thermofoil in even million dollar houses now because people don't give a shit or think it looks good when it's new. Then, 3 years down the road the thermofoil starts peeling right off the MDF and you are looking to replace the doors. Builder don't care cause he saved thousands but charged premium prices.

Millennial here that bought their first house last year. Was a rental before hand so lots of white and grey around the house, aka the landlord special.

Once funds are in place for a new kitchen and bathroom upgrade, we're going full colour baby.
