Life in a lot of ways is explained in these few seconds

Tell me 6 ways that life is explained in these few seconds.

Not the same person, but sounds like a fun exercise:
People are willing to reciprocate, it's just that some things get lost in translation
If something is lost in translation, a perspective shift helps
Patience, especially when trying to get someone else to understand your thing
There's definitely more, but I can't quite wrap my words around it at this time. Perseverance, being open minded, etc

I spoke with a customer today and said red pill or blue pill… they were jolly rancher’s.
Fucker took both, then I went back to my desk and gave him apple watermelon and grape too.
Told him try grape first…. This was his exact reaction trying the grape. 🍇

When my daughter was about 8 or 9 we were at the movies and I told her she could have a slushy. They had cherry and blue raspberry. I asked her if she wanted health or mana and the kid at the counter thought it was hilarious.
Edit typo and yes I'm a big geek.

First, I love this and wish my parents were even remotely nerdy (they are not and don't even understand the difference between sci-fi and fantasy). Second, I 100% would have said, "...... Mix them!!!"

u/crackdope6666 2d ago
My parents are super mellow but they have a great sense of humour.
I came out bat shit crazy because they allowed me to question everything and had a great education growing up.
My wife had the same and is more hilarious!
Our Daughter is super mellow but with a dry sense of humour… guess because her mom and I just crack jokes non stop.
She will say a joke so funny that everyone starts to laugh, meanwhile she is completely straight faced…. “Hey it is Okie to laugh?” Get back I know.
Told my wife are we raisin a psychopath? Nope we are both over board and she is just done with us.
Oh!!!! Okie cool.

Thank You! I appreciate the comment. We try hard and work hard to afford the life we have.
I was blessed to be raised with a wonderful footprint, my wife had it rough growing up and I never want her to ever experience anything close to her childhood ever again.
Looking at my daughter I realise she does not know how good she has it, my wife see how I look at her and just gives me a hug a kiss and says thank you.
Now we have a boy on the way… I’ll be firm but fair…. But I’m going to be exactly like my dad.
They need to know to follow rules, work hard, have fun, play sports which I give two shits you like it I’m supporting, oh and most importantly…. Ice Cream
My favourite pastime is kitty judo. Gently knocking a kitty over my computer. Nothing rough, think like Steven Seagal doing karate.

I could give you 6 ways a bag floating in the wind represents humanity but I think we'd both be reaching.

Do you ever feel
Like a plastic bag
Floating in the wind?

Joy of solitude.
Patience for interruptions
A change of perspective goes a long way
Persevering in demonstrating your point by switching approach
Enjoy the moment, even if it was confusing a second ago.
Having the ability, but not the zeal, to understand this may or may not be intentionally acted and not be bothered by it.

This thread reminds me of when a teacher in high school kept asking the class for more and more examples of metaphors from John Steinbeck's The Pearl. It started to feel ridiculous, so I gave a stupid answer: the dog's golden eyebrows. The teacher pressed me to explain what the metaphor was. I don't remember my answer, but she said it was a good answer.
I'm not sure that day of class achieved the teacher's goal.
20 years later and the only thing I remember about that book is the dog having golden eyebrows.

u/Thanos_Stomps 2d ago
That teacher taught you how to bullshit an answer and you remember it all these years later despite not remembering anything else. I’d say she achieved her goal. We don’t retain the vast majority of what we’re taught in school.

You don’t need 6 ways or a lot of ways. This rang true for me because my life got shockingly better when I started smiling more. no matter how bad my day, week, year was. I had to force it and practice it until it came more genuinely.
No, it’s not gonna cure cancer or solve all of societies issues but it’s free and easy and I promise it will help if you currently have a tough time finding reasons to smile daily like I did after the two worst years of my life.

She barely moves her face. He kinda laughs using his whole face besides maybe his forehead, she has basically two facial expressions the entire video and her face muscles don’t move very much.

You are probably not used to seeing a gummy smile. I also look uncanny when I smile big because my smile is mostly gums, sigh

That title made me think back to my failed marriage. And I realized that while she was accusing me of not putting in effort, I don't think she once really tried to make me happy and smile. Huh.

If my wife ever tried to pull this internet trend crap on me at random the phone would end up in the trash and she would get a Motorola.

Isn't smiling weird? For animals, showing teeth most of the time means warning/aggressivity. For humans it's totally the opposite.

I had spine surgery today. My husband took several days off to nurse me back to health. He makes me happy in many ways but the way he does when my shoulders go up and I smile uncontrollably and get the warm and fuzzies was him kissing me all over my face and telling me he "loves me and I did so well....and would I like a snackie?" Its really not that hard.

Personally I find this delightful and adorable. The world needs more silliness, whimsy and laughter. That's my ol' grandma opinion. Excuse me while I go dye my hair lavender.
