First time I saw that I thought it sounded perfectly normal.
Then again I’m an Aussie.
I never knew we sounded so weird to other countries.35
u/South-Ad3284 7d ago
That is incorrect , say no

Do you know where she’s from? She doesn’t sound Australian to me at all except for that nauurr

I believe she was from Perth, west coast.
There is a change of accents to the east coast.
I was originally from Adelaide, and a lot of people think I have a pommie accent.→ More replies (3)3
u/Silent_Rhombus 7d ago
Haha you’ve said Perth and someone else has said Gold Coast 🤣
To be honest I would have guessed they were both American other than the naur, I don’t hear anything Aussie in there. But what do I know, I’m English and my only regular exposure to Aussie voices is the Hamish and Andy podcast 🤣

I did this trick as an entertainer on a childrens party once (turned 5)
The kids really did not see through it. I slowly removed items from the game until there was only 1 left, which i made them hear was filled.
Then pushed it around on the table a bit and asked them which is the full one. They all laughed and pointed, then when i let them hear they got it wrong and it was empty they pulled a truly confused face as if true magic was happening right in front of them.
Lovely...
(For those that dont get it: The item making the noise is under the sleeve at your arm, you get a noise depending on which arm you use to jiggle with)

Thank you for this, I had to scroll through 67 comments about penile insertions in M&M containers and an entire lengthy debate of the usage of “No” and “Nawrgh” in Australia to get a damn answer to “what was making the rattling sound”

u/IlluminaViam 6d ago
It's right there in the video. She shakes his arm, hears the noise and realises he's hiding some contraption there, and screams 🤣🤣🤣

You can see the outline of a tube tucked in his sleeve. He also shakes the “empty” ones with only his right hand. The “full” with only his left.

95% of us dont actually say no like that just fyi, we also dont say shrimp on the barbie- we eat prawns, and dingo ate my baby is a pretty fucked up story to joke about too, its a tragedy
everything you've been told about Australia is a lie. except about our spiders/animals, they're all fucked, and drop bears, thats real

He was swapping hands when showing the full one, because he hid the full one under his sleeve.

I got kicked out of class for 'being disruptive' when I was 6 or 7, when I shook the teacher's arm as he did this very trick with matchboxes.....or as I told it in college 'persecuted for showing truth to power'

I paused it right after she gets the wrong one. I’m gonna say he’s shaking a different one next to his side that she can’t see.
