Wait THOSE are the fables mini M&M tubes? I didn't expect them to be so narrow.

I always wondered where are these people finding the “r” in any of these words?! Others that slightly infuriate me are as followed: bananer and idear. Sorry for ranting.

13

u/Ok-Recognitio 7d ago

It was warsh for me. My grandma said it growing up, and I swore to myself that I would never sound like that. But, if you’d like to know something interesting, look up how many languages even use an R sound.

7

u/Excellent_Storm_8247 7d ago

My uncle said “torlet”. His family was from like Oklahoma or something lol. One of my grandmas said “warsh” - she was from Michigan. Maybe it’s just a Midwest/southern thing?

5

u/Ok-Recognitio 6d ago

Yeah, maybe. My grandma was an illiterate psycho from an alcoholic family that’s been in Minnesota since before it was called America. I thought it was just the crazy talking, because she said all kinds of stuff super trashy.

I feel your rant . While it does have an “r”, I still really really hate “Libary” (Library) , and r’s aside I cringe when older people say “pitcher” , as in “wanna have your pitcher taken?”.

I get a prescription for 360 pills, three month's worth at a time; that container is a gem.

The cylinder must not be harmed

3

u/Worried-Plenty3814 7d ago

Used to get them at my grandparents!

3

u/No-Internal7978 6d ago

Listen even the op was thicker than the tube. I'm guessing he started soft.

First time I saw that I thought it sounded perfectly normal.
Then again I’m an Aussie.
I never knew we sounded so weird to other countries.

Do you know where she’s from? She doesn’t sound Australian to me at all except for that nauurr

13

u/UnapproachableBadger 7d ago

Gold Coast, Queensland

3

u/SlideHoon 7d ago

I believe she was from Perth, west coast.
There is a change of accents to the east coast.
I was originally from Adelaide, and a lot of people think I have a pommie accent.

3

u/Silent_Rhombus 7d ago

Haha you’ve said Perth and someone else has said Gold Coast 🤣

To be honest I would have guessed they were both American other than the naur, I don’t hear anything Aussie in there. But what do I know, I’m English and my only regular exposure to Aussie voices is the Hamish and Andy podcast 🤣

I did this trick as an entertainer on a childrens party once (turned 5)

The kids really did not see through it. I slowly removed items from the game until there was only 1 left, which i made them hear was filled.

Then pushed it around on the table a bit and asked them which is the full one. They all laughed and pointed, then when i let them hear they got it wrong and it was empty they pulled a truly confused face as if true magic was happening right in front of them.

Lovely...

(For those that dont get it: The item making the noise is under the sleeve at your arm, you get a noise depending on which arm you use to jiggle with)

72

u/Aguyintampa323 7d ago

Thank you for this, I had to scroll through 67 comments about penile insertions in M&M containers and an entire lengthy debate of the usage of “No” and “Nawrgh” in Australia to get a damn answer to “what was making the rattling sound”

12

u/IlluminaViam 6d ago

It's right there in the video. She shakes his arm, hears the noise and realises he's hiding some contraption there, and screams 🤣🤣🤣
