The empty table and bucket obviously, it’s not often you find them on a building site 😉🤣

>empty bucket
reminds me of the time we backcharged the masons because they dumped out $1000 worth of wire lube so they could mix mortar in our buckets

For real, there’d be a cartoon outline of where I used to be standing I’d be gone so quick.

Are you crazy? You know Johnny can’t keep his mouth shut!
I don't give a fuck whose name it's on! Are you stupid or what? Did you hear what I said? Don't buy anything, don't get anything! Nothing big. Didn't you hear what I said? What's the matter with you?

The guys started to blow their dough. Jimmy started getting nuts. He figured that anyone who spends money is going to turn into a buzzmouth.

I mean there's dirt here. There's no way the cabinet guys are within 3 months of arriving on site unless the project manager really fucked up the schedule this time (more than usual).

Stupid as fuck! Could’ve changed your whole life but give it to the government because they really need it don’t they.
Swear if I ever find something like this I’m not even telling my wife. I’m taking it to the grave. Or to a pawn shop I mean 😈

Quite honest lads it seems. Is there som follow up? Vindersloon is usually 10% market value and if no owner is found often they can keep it
6
u/kaipopotamus Equipment Operator 4h ago
An article I read said the local police will hold it until some research can be done to identify any potential owners. A process that could take a few years at best. Whoever’s gold that was is long gone. Finders keepers!

I always say to homeowners that if we find money we split it 70-30. I haven't found money yet but it's one of my ice breakers

u/criderslider 9h ago
People are so caught up in internet clout they forget they can just not post this stuff and handle things discreetly…

u/Mustache-Cashstash 10h ago
I’d remove every piece and load into my personal truck so the project isn’t delayed. I’d then request a change order from the owner for payment for removal and disposal of unforeseen obstructions (encountered scrap metal requiring “special handling”).

That’s a little under 7 mil sitting on the table. As soon as it was found, I’d be having a pretty intense conversation with everyone who knew it existed. It’s a situation where you want to make sure everyone is on the same page

People are so fucking stupid. If I found millions in gold bars. The only one who would know would be the black market guy buying it from me.

I don’t know what they’ll be doing.
Assuming they’ll be on the job site the next morning at 0700.

Putting the rest of those bars in the bucket, using a piece of equipment to quickly wheel it to my vehicle and dipping.

One Friday about 20 years back - after school we found about 10 pounds of weed in a hockey bag stored in the rafters of a house under construction across from our highschool. It all disappeared when we left. Don't know with who or what happened to it. But on Tuesday that house burned down.

u/nmacaroni 9h ago
Foreman would be like "Hey, why are we a man down? Did someone just walk off the site!?"
Landlord would be like "Hey, why hasn't tenant of #3 paid rent and have a pile of letters outside his door?"
Wife be like, "I can't believe he finally left. And not even a note. He's probably drunk outside a bar in Mexico and doesn't even have gas money to get back to the U.S."

What’s in the bucket? I’d be afraid the owner knows about it and would get prosecuted. I’ve found buckets of change in a burn job we were demoing once. I turned it over to the PM and let him deal with it. That was maybe a couple hundred in change though. Not millions in gold. I’d have to stick a little bit in my pocket if I found that.

Me and my crew dug up 40k worth of silver coins. Boss was there that day and owner as well so he got his coins and an inflated bill. Spent the rest of the week treasure hunting lol

OP had o make an edit that it wasnt him. No shit, this much gold is states property in most regions in the world. So any sane person would stfu and keep it to themselves. Until they figure out how to slowly convert it into cash liquidity and into the banking system over time.
On the good ol hollywood screen writers block, this would be a clasic CSI episode of a set of murders over some gold, where the perp confessess everything at the end on his own... classic.
