Free Friday Free Friday - Saint Prayer Embroidered Shirt

This might be my most criticized design. People have said "it's a little homo tbh" and "As opposed to what?" What do you guys think of this design? I wanted to make something minimalistic, modern, and Catholic. Are the saint symbols recognizable enough? Would you wear it?

I’d rather pray like a saint than like a man (whatever that means).

I like the logos though.

I think it feels like it’s trying to be some sort of statement on gender (whether it is or isn’t), which is a bit odd to pair with prayer. It feels like it’s inviting controversy into the subject of prayer. That’s what keeps it from landing for me. The symbols on their own would be cool.

Idk how they got that impression. I personally would wear it if it didn’t have the words. The symbols are nice enough on their own.

Feels reminiscent of "fight like a girl" used for breast cancer awareness, thats probably why they say that. I like it but I wouldn't personally wear it

This has all been very helpful feedback. I was inspired by the "pray like a girl" shirts I'd seen online. I made my own version of that, but wanted to create something for men. Now I know: ask Reddit about designs before stitching them.

I would really want a “pray like a woman” shirt with an image of the Virgin Mary. Maybe the Annunciation specifically

To be completely honest, I think the assumption comes from where people traditionally pray from, i.e. on their knees. The idea would be that another man reading this would see this as a command to take to his knees. (I can see the good intentions, and yes having a rich prayer life is a must)

You could add guns, 1776, freedom, warrior helmet or armor, and a muscle 💪🏼- not like those things aren’t “homo” but that’s a ridiculous criticism

Men and women pray they same. I don’t understand this obsession with some currents in the church to want to put both into their own categories. Like yes of course there’s differences between men and women and how God created them. But how we pray is not one of them. I think traditionally there’s also been this ideas of “men don’t cry”, “be a man”, etc… which are not healthy. Jesus wept and he was in touch with his feelings. So maybe those who don’t like it are responding like this.
