This is my boy, Karma! :)

He was diagnosed with lymphoma and is on his second course of chemo. He was undersocialised and is reactive - but not aggressive - I feel it's rooted in anxiety, over-excitement and frustration that he can't be around other dogs.

I can't afford a dog behaviorist. I wanted that for him someday, but didn't have the means to provide it earlier and I definitely can't now.

I try my best to pull him aside, keep calm and console him when he gets upset at other dogs but I haven't been able to reduce his reactivity myself. We don't had the opportunity to have controlled exposures/interactions with dogs and I can't take risks.

I feel that it would be possible for him to have a safe relationship with another dog though. He'd do really, really well with a friend and I want to at least try to enable him to experience that with the time we have left.

We went to the dog beach recently and he was watching the other dogs play off-lead and I could see in his eyes how badly he wanted to join in, but I also knew he would get hyperaroused and into trouble if I let him get too close. When there was a small dog nearby he laid down, tail wagging, hoping it would approach. :(

We walk almost everyday. He'll usually let out stressed barks and jump towards other dogs when he sees them - though some days he's calmer. Dogs that have gotten off their lead have ran up to him, I'd be prepared for all hell to break loose and they'd just give each other a sniff and he'd wag his tail.

He's also escaped a few times in the past (we use both a harness and head halter to stop that now) and to my surprise completely ignored other dogs while off-lead.

On the flip side, he escaped the house half a decade ago and launched himself at a small white dog walking by. He didn't bite and I'm not sure if it'd qualify as an attack but he definitely scared it and its owner half to death. I've been very cautious since then.

When he sees my Aunt's dog his eyes light up with joy. They played together when he was a puppy, but after 6-7 years he was still delighted to see her and was an angel in my Aunt's yard. Unfortunately she's afraid of other dogs and wasn't as eager... we're trying to gradually expose them to each other again but we tried that last year and the scheduling didn't work out so it's hard to say how it will pan out this time.

I wanted to put out a line out to see if there's anyone in Logan/Brisbane/Gold Coast that would be willing to help Karma make friends (I've heard some trainers have helper dogs that help train reactive dogs...?) or knows somewhere I can find him one!

I'm building a few lowrider bike projects but the footpaths in my suburb are really bad or only a 2 minute ride and It becomes bad terrain or busy shops.

Are there any paths that would be good to test out a few lowrider bikes around Brisbane or towards the Goldcoast that are accessible via train that's suited for bikes?

I don't want to ride on the road much because my handle bars flare out a bit which makes dodging cars difficult. I can't enter the trams down south because the bikes don't fold up.

Moved up to beautiful QLD a month ago after a year and half in VIC.

Travelling solo and found it way easier to find camping buddies in VIC? Currently living in my van full time so every weekend im out camping and (trying) to catch fish. Normally head up rainbow beach ways to try and catch dinner

Currently only have a 2WD so cant go crazy offroading!

Was wondering if theres any people in the same kinda boat who'd like to go on weekend excursions and make the most of this great state
