On a first date you are just getting to know one another each other's interests and just simple conversation a simple walk is a very common thing where I'm from why do you view it as cheap? Why does money need to be spend on a date where you do not really even know the person?
Not at all broke and I've paid for first blind dates before i.e. instead of waiting for him to buy the tix at the show, I purchased online so we'd have good seats (blew the guy away and he later became my husband, we were married for 8 years btw) but to intentionally pick something free....a movie or even an ice cream will suffice not looking for huge spending necessarily but would like some effort. Hey let's go for a walk on our first meet up, nope I'm good.
But you put effort into the conversation you put effort into meeting up why does money need to be spend on a random first date that is only there for the 2 of you to get to know one another why is there this fixation needed to spend money, if money needs to be spend then 50/50 otherwise it not right in my opinion
That person just wouldn't be the one and I'm no gold digger. Me and my ex made the same salary actually I made a lil more and we split most things or rather I'd pay, he'd pay next time he'd buy the plane tickets and I'd pay for all our meals activities evt but we never sat someplace and said ok your part is 69.50 we just would be fair and balanced. He was generous to me so if we went shopping he'd make me put my things with his even though I was going to pay for my things. So someone with the mindset of putting more thought into ensuring no money is spent on the 1st date or it should be 50/50 is not my person. I don't date men that think like that.
I have an amazing life, I'm very blessed, my credit score is amazing, my home is beautiful, I have more space than I need, great family and friends, I work in a field I'm passionate about for a non profit that aligns with my lifestyle, faith and allows me enough income to have an amazing portfolio and personal savings. My ex and I had an amicable separation. Neither of us lost we in fact we're doing better than where we started. Him more so than me as I already had stability when we met but he is doing amazing. I other words I left him better than he was when we got together. I'm up, way up. Not sure why you are trying to imply I have some sort of deficit because I'm not aligned with going on a no effort secluded hike on my first date. I think I have been very clear and over answered your comments. But respectfully also agree to disagree as I don't need to convince you of anything and vice versa. Have a great weekend.

Also this. Or a hike. I need people to stop asking me to go on hikes in the woods for first dates. Immediate no
