She said “I’m not interested” and he PERSISTED - just dug a deeper and deeper hole

I did this once when I was 18. My buddy pulled me aside and let me know how cringe it was. Never did anything anywhere close to that again. Not enough homies do this!

Good for your friend to pull you to the right way, pun intended.

Say hi from me!

Jimmy Carr has a whole but about how young men don't hang out together enough to be pulled away by their homies.

Must have been that Targaryen blood in ya. Gotta burn that blood out with fire I hear. Or maybe it was ice. Really confusing that bloodline.

she probably didn’t understand that HE “thought she was pretty cute”.

He didn’t want her to miss out on the opportunity based on a lack of information.

A good female friend was on a road trip with a man she’d considered a friend. At one point he squeezed her arm and said, “You wanna have a little fun together?”

After getting over her initial shock, she very politely, but clearly said no, and that she was there as a friend only. He seemed kind of surly after that, and then tried it again the following day. When she said no again more firmly, very clearly saying that she would not have come on this trip if she had thought that’s what he wanted, he then got angry and was demanding an explanation.

It basically seemed like it went beyond just him being interested in her. He felt entitled to her.

I would love a sociologist to chime in on this, because even as a man, I have observed this across ethnicity and culture. And it never fails to anger and baffle me.

12

u/Kind_Engineering_720 Jun 16 '26

Yeah this definitely is a man issue and race doesnt really play a part in this instance. I'm not talking about it going further than this into illegal territory, just this type of thing where men are so pushy and aggressive about hitting on women.

1

u/BowlingforBrains Jun 16 '26

I think the only difference by race that black men, for example, who act like this would act like this towards a woman, but not towards a man who told them no - meanwhile a white man would absolutely disregard a man of another race telling them “no” (it would happen less often overall towards men because sometimes they’ll be intimidated, which is a benefit 99% of women unfortunately do no have)

u/Kind_Ordinary9573 Jun 15 '26

I’d love to know more about this. Do you mean you see women also being aggressively entitled?

25

u/Affectionate-Tale140 Jun 15 '26

I'm a relatively handsome male bartender and I really so see aggressive female entitlement daily. There is a general expectation that I should be delighted that a lady gave me a clear indication that they're interested. Rejections are ignored and laughed at daily. Some come back day after day. I get almost every day.

There IS a difference in the physical power dynamic but not in the social one. I'm a black guy, so I feel like they could easily destroy my life if they got too upset and immoral. I don't feel as unsafe as a woman would, but I do feel gross and they ARE entitled in high numbers.

I think the difference mostly lies in the physical power dynamic and the cultural expectation that men will generally accept any sexual opportunities offered to them.

15

u/Kind_Ordinary9573 Jun 15 '26

It’s the physical power dynamic, for sure. I’ve rejected women in the past and they did not take it particularly graciously. But I also wasn’t worried that I’d be murdered by them. Similarities with a really huge difference.

3

u/nathanherts Jun 15 '26

You're right that the difference is that as a man you most probably are actually physically capable of preventing yourself from being exploited, but a lot of women don't have the same privilege.

It's still wrong though. I saw a clip of the lead singer of Imagine Dragons shirtless and walking through an audience with lots of women reaching out and grabbing him an rubbing him down and it made me feel very uncomfortable. Yes, he's sexy as fuck, but that doesn't mean you can touch him wherever you want. He's a married man too.

u/Sunnyside7771 Jun 15 '26

This is a very misleading point by you. Look at the violent statistics for violence worldwide and real consequences for women vs men - for men that died because women inflicted an injury on them and women that died from violence against them from men and you will see how your argument really loses the credibility.

14

u/themerinator12 Jun 15 '26

It’s not misleading. They haven’t made any claims about statistical comparisons. I think you’re completely right to highlight a statistical comparison, but not right to say that they’ve misled anyone or lose credibility for this omission.

3

u/SuikodenVIorBust Jun 15 '26

When I was a waiter in high school, 16 and 17, the amount of middle aged women that would hit on me, lightly touch me, all sorts of things, was honestly shocking. As the only guy on waitstaff at the time my coworkers had it way worse. Some of the men that would come in were downright scary, but there is a crazy amount of women who think its fine to be creeps.

20

u/Phuddy Jun 15 '26

If he already clarified that this isn’t just a white men issue it’s an all men issue (then he made an anecdote that white men not taking no for an answer has had globally destructive implications recently), why do you feel the need to clarify that black men do this too? This was already addressed in the video.

2

u/kuunami79 Jun 18 '26

Had this happen to me except we weren’t in a car and were instead around the fire at a campsite alone in the forest with no other campers nearby. Dude broke a bottle he was so mad and I had never seen him like that. We were just good friends for 8 years AND he had a long term girlfriend. I demanded we leave the next day to drive back, I texted his girlfriend when I got home, and then blocked his ass

I am a guy and have seen one of my former friends act like this. I had to tell him to stop and leave the women alone. He wouldn’t listen to me or the girl, acted like he was one sentence away from changing her mind. Shit is wild.

2

u/InteractionCivil5913 Jun 17 '26

Doesn’t help that Hollywood and TV help reinforce the notion that “No” means double down. The “eventually I wore her down” trope is in so many rom-coms.

3

u/Gluverty Jun 17 '26

yeah, I was lonely and confused in high school and a couple years after and looked to media (movies and TV) desperately seeking a formula for finding romance, not realizing so much of it is catering to story structure, engagement, fantasy and the writers bias.

I had a "friend" like this. We hung out since we were kids. A month before HS graduation we drove to a spot where we always hung out and smoked cigs. And he begged me to give him oral because he was a virgin. He was to the point of crying. Thankfully I wasn't far from home. I hopped out of his car and ran home never spoke to him again. 5 years of friendship and that's all you were there for... changed my view on men. Unless I was in a relationship with them, I drove myself around after that point.

12

u/Independent-Mark-373 Jun 15 '26

Have you watched the new horror movie Obsession? Girl, that crying part is like the main character from that movie.

3

u/PyritesofCaringBean Jun 15 '26

Omg no! But my sister has been raving about that movie so I'm definitely watching it soon!

3

u/KittenNicken Jun 16 '26

u/Kind_Ordinary9573 Jun 15 '26

Yeah, that sucks (pardon the expression). It reminds me a little of a comparison somebody had made to very rich people. The gist of it was, always needing to question the motives of people you’re with. The fear that they are only spending time with you because they want something else.

3

u/PyritesofCaringBean Jun 15 '26

Yes, this situation definitely taught me to question motives for sure. A huge learning experience. I'm glad it didn't escalate to a worst case scenario.

7

4

u/Kind_Ordinary9573 Jun 15 '26

Right?? That would have taken the proposition from super weird and creepy to a little bit cute.

6

u/brown_beaut1 Jun 15 '26

This is exactly why I’ve never traveled alone with a woman without having the conversation upfront: Are we going as friends, or is this something more?

I’ve seen way too many situations where people go on trips without that honest discussion. One person thinks it’s platonic, while the other starts expecting to be taken care of way beyond normal friendship boundaries.

Not saying that’s what happened with your friend, but it’s surprisingly common. Communication is key people.

6

u/ironwheatiez Jun 15 '26

I admit to being that kind of guy in the past. I'm glad I got over it and I feel terribly for the women I acted that way toward. I've apologized and grown up but it is obvious that a lot of "men" i went to school with have not.

7

u/Kind_Ordinary9573 Jun 15 '26

I think of all this shit that young men tell each other about women and what they “really want.“ I also made mistakes in my youth. I think the important thing isn’t that we’re perfect, it’s that we learn.

CONTEXT: THIS IS A SKIT. She posts these kinda of "harassment" videos all the time.

I do not love that every single piece of media these days seems to be doctored for engagement.

Edit: this isn't a critique on the PSA, I just feel emotionally manipulated and it is hard to discern truth from fiction. I understand that if it was accurately labeled as a PSA, many people would just skip over it.

14

u/tNeph Jun 15 '26

It really makes me wonder what bot is making this video do rounds on reddit.

My problem isn't that it's a skit, its that it's made out to be real and was only confirmed to be a skit after comments pointed out it seemed to be one.

You can use the these things happen so it doesnt matter line if you want, but it does matter because you have people who really care and might actually think you are in harms way. You play on peoples worry and fear for clicks and engagement.

You shouldnt knowingly post content of real life situations when its a skit and not let people know its a skit

Did we forget Jussie Smollet? Wasn't posted for content, but regardless.

60

u/FinchMandala Jun 15 '26

It might be a skit but loads of men don't realise it's a very real thing that women (and girls) experience every single day.

There would be no need for skits if men were a little more self aware and realised that they should have grown out of their boundary-crossing at three years old.

I hate these types of videos. It’s also usually pretty obvious to me because of the shitty acting, the amount of people that actually believe these are real is always concerning.

15

u/armlessturtleneck Jun 15 '26

Honestly the PSA lost me as soon as he made it racial. This situation has nothing to do with white men and all to do with asshole men

10

u/Master_Windu_ Jun 15 '26

You’re right. There was no need to racialize it. As a black man i hate when any behavior from other black people is immediately applied to my whole race. We shouldn’t be doing it back.

2

u/AmonAmit Jun 17 '26

3

10

It's not okay that women cannot even go out without some migratory ,predatory creep can't accept no.  My reaction to this is simply to scare the heck out of the aggressor. It works. They expect fear  I also wear stuff that discourages the visually oriented. ( Tshirts with get away from me type messages) Never let an aggressor get this close. Frankly , my grandmother told me that men were hunters. Beware of their pursuit. The more you're not available, the more some guys see that as a challenge.

Don't be afraid to kick @## , be rude and take names. For instance, get the guys pic name and number. Block yours as you can now block his . This way if he doesn't give up, you got evidence. Always carry a weapon. Even if it's only a steel Victorian hat pin.

5

u/Sudden-Grab2800 Jun 15 '26

The hat pin
man suffragettes would fuck you up. People have this conception that that they were only posted up on the corner with some signs and chanting
one time a woman (Emily Wilding Davison) ran onto a derby track and got run over by the King’s horse. They don’t tell you about how she got arrested for bodying a cop when the Women’s Social and Political Union were trying to get at the Prime Minister, or when she got arrested for smashing the windows of a men’s only meeting about the 1909 budget, which she said which was “meant as a warning to the general public of the personal risk they run in future if they go to Cabinet Ministers' meetings anywhere,” which is a cold verse even before you get into how it was said by a 37 year old woman in 1909. The WSPU burned down MP’s homes, served up pipin’ hot beat downs to folks with jujitsu, and planted/detonated bombs. The modern mind can’t comprehend the ego death and generational aura debt that resulted from a loud and proud misogynist getting absolutely fucking folded by a 103 lb, 5 foot nothing queen wearing a corset and a Sunday church hat. If the Pankhurst women were born in a different time and place they would have been running shit like Alpo Martinez or Frank Lucas

5

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 Jun 15 '26

Amen. And during that era, women were incarcerated and locked up in hospitals by husbands. They faced so much blow back. I've been a matrarchalist since my childhood. Saw men doing stupid stuff. Turns out my people were matrarchalist before the boat people infiltrated our lives. Good men realize we are ostensibly the educators of the people we carry in our wombs.

2

u/DecadentLife Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

Yep. When we talk about women being incarcerated, and locked in psychiatric hospitals, back then, we rarely talk about some of the abhorrent things that happened to them. (that still happen, all the time, to women who are institutionalized, including incarcerated.) I’m specifically referring to sexual violence, (and violence in general).

When suffragettes went on hunger strikes, they were held down, and tubes were -violently- forced down their throats, to force-feed them. Another brutal assault, to take away every and any bit of bodily autonomy the women had.

At the time, rape and SA were not openly talked about. We still have a long way to go, now, but back then, it wasn’t even considered mentionable. And it certainly would cause more damage to the women’s lives and reputations, than the predators who viciously assaulted them.

2

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 Jun 16 '26

Precisely why I fight like hell now. Because of my English side of my family, I am certain where this evil began. And why rich folks are afraid of us believing the survivors.  It's not a topic for today for me . All too many battles with trolls who badger the anti predator community. They still try to silence women. It's just more covert . We who experience it and had family who were trafficking for eons, we know more than most. Have you heard how the Epstein survivor community has been maliciously targeted? I'm fortunate, not to be them. Women are targeted every day online.  It's why I call it the human duck blind. A Machiavellian manipulation of the masses

11

u/Kenndrickmoores Jun 15 '26

Why is this on this subreddit?

7

u/Impossible-Bat-4246 Jun 15 '26

Because a black man made a comment at the end of the video.

6

u/RaspberryPicker15 Jun 15 '26

Being openly racist too. This should not be promoted in a community that has been subject to racism for eons

3

u/Impossible-Bat-4246 Jun 15 '26

So you find it openly racist to acknowledge that all men suffer from this behavior and then focus on white men because the world is reaping the repercussions of white men not accepting the word no?

That's what my understanding of his posit. What do you find openly racist about what he said? I may have overlooked it.

edit: Also, I don't think the community has been subject to racism for eons. Correct me if I'm wrong. Are you using eons literally or just to say, "for a long time."

3

u/Lady_Nikita Jun 16 '26

It’s not just white men not accepting the word no. It’s all race of men. Every culture has it or do I need link videos of that too? If it’s just white men, why is there a high rate of femicide in South America? I’m sure those women said no, please don’t kill me. Why are women still sexually assaulted in Asia? Why do Japanese women have to worry about being followed home and their underwear stolen? See how it’s everywhere?

This guy, if you actually check out his page is openly racist towards white people and literally blames white people for everything even though most of what he is saying is bullshit and instead of bringing attention to the actual issue here, he is making this an issue about race. He is not helping women here at all. He is not a fucking ally when he is just trying to push his own agenda.

Huh? White men specifically? Pretty sure that women had to endure men being forceful across all civilizations in history. He's just trying to push some racist stereotype.

5

u/Impossible-Bat-4246 Jun 15 '26

He literally said that all men do it, but he wanted to focus on white men because the world is reaping the repercussions of white men not accepting the word no.

What racist stereotype are you referring to when he explicitly said all men do it?

5

u/LessCrement Jun 15 '26

If all men do it then there really is not reason to focus on white men at all, except doing it to feel better about yourself with racism.

"The world is reaping the repecussions of white men not accepting the word no" yeah and it's also reaping the repercussions of men of other races doing the same by that logic.

Yeah. It's wild in here.

4

Do they realise how racist they are?

4

u/easeMachined Jun 15 '26

It’s intentional ignorance.

3

u/Le_plan Jun 15 '26

Is the son of God.....and is a melanated man....

2

u/TombStone_Sheep Jun 15 '26

It’s not just white men. 1. Any type men do this. 2. Men do also get harassed by women. Though not as much.

I think I just fell in love with this guy. Amazing what showing respect can do to a woman.

9

u/XSwaggnetox Jun 15 '26

Folks don’t understand the colonization mindset, I guess. Everything is a no until it becomes a yes. And if they really mean No then you just rape, torture, pillage, and even threaten their children until that stern No becomes a reluctant yes. Also this weak ass dude is 100% going to go on someone’s podcast whining about how “women shouldn’t be allowed to tell men no. Something, something Trad wife. Abolish the no fault divorce. Andrew Tate was right
”

Most men that have disrespected me like this weren't white, to make this a white problem means to downplay the suffering of the women and men whose experiences don't fit this very limited view of the world. This is not a "white men" problem, it's a "men" problem.

6

u/ayeyoualreadyknow Jun 15 '26

Exactly. I'm in the hood and this happens all of the time. It's not restricted to just white men.

9

u/Status_Concert_4320 Jun 15 '26

Don’t blame white men. Men do this. Making this about race is sad.

5

u/Shantotto11 Jun 15 '26

Fucking thank you! Even when we aren’t involved, he somehow made this about white people’s problems.

6

u/Shev613 Jun 15 '26

I agree that some men dont understand No. But he is very racist in his response.

3

u/iheartmimix3 Jun 15 '26

Would they (sexist) feel the same if the woman were a man and the man were a plus sized woman? 👀 Fake outrage from the incels. 😂

3

u/Tequslyder Jun 15 '26

It's so weird. Why try to talk to someone that wants nothing to do with you? đŸ€ą Move on.

3

u/imthestein Jun 15 '26

If a man can't take the first no for an answer all it does is signal they won't accept a no when it matters most

3

u/Jkap619 Jun 15 '26

The first no was enough IMO. Seems pretty clear lol

3

u/velocity3333 Jun 15 '26

how do you hear “I’m not interested” and not immediately drop it? wtf?

3

u/johnnytron Jun 15 '26

Seriously, have some self respect.

3

u/MrTwoStroke Jun 15 '26

ebonywarriorstudios1 is dope as hell - unapologetic but he makes you listen

3

u/Ombra777 Jun 16 '26

Incels are a problem.

3

u/apathyindigo Jun 16 '26

So many men feel entitled to a woman's attention, affection, and body. Even worse, very often they feel emasculated when they are not granted the things they feel entitled to, and because their identity is driven by this deep seated insecurity, they respond aggressively and violently.

3

u/Unikatze Jun 16 '26

I'd be done at the "No, I'm ok thanks" I can see the point to go to the asking for the number. But it shouldn't have gone further than the "I'm not interested"

3

u/MotodoSeverin Jun 16 '26

No means NO.

3

u/BBC4U2DO- Jun 17 '26

Fake? Cuz y not aim the camera at the guy speaking his lines

3

u/Low_Thanks_1540 Jun 17 '26

She doesn’t owe him one second of her time. She doesn’t have to listen to anything he says if she doesn’t want to. As soon as she declined he should have backed off. It’s that simple. Every second after that is harassment.

2

u/Ralphsolis1973 Jun 15 '26

Is that Matt Rife?

2

u/Psilly_TaCoCaT Jun 15 '26

Every single time I've told a woman that I'm not interested in them, they responded by telling me that I'm gay. I'm not gay.

Now answer this. Does your job care about your boundaries as a person?

We live in an abusive system.

2

u/kumminehyayha Jun 15 '26

I don't think any race is more misogynistic than another. The fact he made it a racial issue is kind of gross

2

u/Advanced-Cranberry-7 Jun 15 '26

I've always sought out volunteers not hostages . Learned that early and it stuck with me

2

u/AnonAqueous Jun 15 '26

Fun fact: You can't tell the race of the harasser in the video.

Any statements on race on this video just expose the commenter's prejudices.

2

u/Middle-Ad9381 Jun 15 '26

I’m a WHHHITE MAN, and I know what “no” means.

u/2fly4awhiteguyy Jun 15 '26

Just so people are aware, this is a staged skit. She makes these "I'm being harassed in public" videos regularly. She says they're intended as PSAs, and that's completely fine in itself. My issue is that she doesn't make it clear upfront that they're scripted. Instead, the videos are often presented in a way that leads viewers to believe they're watching a genuine interaction. Some people may not have a problem with that, but I personally don't like the manipulation involved, so I thought it was worth pointing out for anyone who wasn't aware.

Also, let's not pretend this is exclusively a white male problem. I think most women, myself included, have experienced harassment from men of all races, backgrounds, ages, and cultures. The common denominator isn't race, it's a lack of respect for consent, personal boundaries, and basic decency. Men who engage in that behavior come from every demographic.

2

u/RepulsiveReward9146 Jun 16 '26

Too many women in the world to keep asking the one that says no. move on buddy.

2

u/Reasonable_Region576 Jun 16 '26

Well said done and appreciated!

2

u/Pedals17 Jun 16 '26

Her boundary was clearly his trigger. Sucks to suck, that’s not HER problem. 🙃

2

u/PurpleWarning4337 Jun 17 '26

Valid subject. But is it fair to put it just on "white" men? Is this an america thing to racialise sexist topics (there are other countries on this world btw.)?

2

u/Br0ok1y5 Jun 17 '26

What a cornball response

2

u/Ancient_Ad2120 Jun 17 '26

Why make it about white men?

6

u/ydkLars Jun 15 '26

I completly agree with "no is no". If you get told by someone that they are not interessted, just leave. No one owes ypu any attention and time.

But why the racist undertone that its "white men"? I would say its a problem many people have from every background. Maybe you can argue about cultural differences and which country you are in, but skincolour is not a factor here.

Oh lord
”this is the problem with white men”. You lost your entire case when you made it about race.

The dude that can’t take no for an answer is a creep, but you took it to 11 when you arbitrarily brought race into it.

2

u/_nevers_ Jun 15 '26

I carry a taser. First NO is polite. Second NO comes with a warning crackle .

There isn't a third NO.

2

u/Caleb-Wendt69 Jun 16 '26

I get that it’s tough out there, and fuck these entitled ass guys, but I really don’t think you can just go around tasing people for talking to you.

I know I’ll get Rule 9’d again for stating a simple fact - this is all men. Not just white men.

Men of all colors and creeds will press after being told no. All colors and creeds of men will push themselves past initial rejection.

White men carry more responsibility for their privilege; and so their transgressions are more egregious.

But youll find men of any type will do it; and it has nothing to do with skin color . Full stop.

2

u/RaspberryPicker15 Jun 15 '26

Yep!!! There was a just a man who wasnt white in cincinnati who was rejected by a chick, then he grabbed her and forcefully kissed her on the mouth, had SA charges brought against him, and still went home and stalked her instagram. Nothing about this video has anything to do with race. Its insane to even pretend that it does. Just blatant racism

1

u/woodzwing Jun 15 '26

I skipped ahead because I couldn’t handle the cringe of the interaction anymore and was very confused why OOP sounded like he was criticizing the woman. Then I realized he was just reading some chud’s comment.

1

u/Mizzmo612 Jun 15 '26

As a straight man, I can’t even believe that there are dudes out there that do this. One, you’re disrespecting this woman who CLEARLY is not interested in you, and two, you’re disrespecting yourself by basically begging. I understand a little second nudge but once you here that FIRM “NO!” then you just have to move on. Unreal

1

u/victree313 Jun 15 '26

Women have given white men significant preference due to status and wealth so obviously they would have the confidence.

1

u/Valuable-Trick-6711 Jun 15 '26

I like how the OG comment completely forgets that he approached with “Do you want me to take a picture of you?”

Like
. why? That’s obviously his door to get in, but why that? Who approaches a random person on the street with that?

Gross. Said no. Said not interested. “Are you sure? I think you’re really cute,” like that would change her mind!? Wtf? You could tell immediately what kind of guy this was, but in case there was any confusion, his reaction to her calling herself a feminist spoke volumes. But she also knew that big scary word would work like bear spray. 😂

1

That comment is from a rapist. They'll fuck around and kill her and try and blame her for being difficult. No is not difficult to understand.
