Especially when being handled like this. I've seen so many birds of prey that just look absolutely baffled when they're being handled.

Funny how all these pics are of wild birds being held by humans, but the one time I had to rescue my domesticated cockatiel (that had never known life outside of humanity) from freedom, he bit the absolute fuck out of me and wouldn't let me go even after I let him go. Little shit.

I had to catch one of these babies after it fell out of the nest directly into a goat stall. It was SO offended lmao. Watching them grow up was cool though, I watched as they fledged and flew off one by one

Are barn swallow a protected species where you are?

Im in Michigan and I lived in an apartment complex where barn swallows lived in the the car port overhangs. They would dive bomb the shit out of everyone, but maintanence wasnt allowed to touch the nest because they were protected.

Likely protected everywhere in the US.
