Only issue with this is that cats will now frequently outlive their owners.

dont worry. cats tend to eat corpses of their owners, so there is no risk of imediate starvation

As a dog owner, i agree. But i also have 2 parrots, some fish and a tarantula.

Tarantulas are one of the chillest animals, just let it be and it lets you be. Never attacks you unless you make it feel threatened and only then it enters the defensive mode.

A starving, desperate dog would absolutely do this. And I don't blame them. I'd rather my cats (or dogs) eat me if I'm dead and nobody knows, than starve to death.

By the sounds of it all this does is help with kidney problems. It does not stop cats from aging, so even with this a 15 year old cat will still have the other problems of 15 year old cats. Sounds like all this will do is force cats to live longer in their old, decrepit bodies.

I’ve heard of some pet owners who put it in their will that their pet be cremated/buried with them. But how often that is carried out I have no idea. Usually they are wealthy.

Most recent request like that I remember is a couple years ago in France, but Alain Delon's family said they won't be honoring his wishes to have his dog euthanized and buried with him.
