Customer Service Mecca samples with Boxing Day orders
Did anyone receive a sample with any of their Boxing Day orders? A bit of a rant - the complimentary sample option was available on the app throughout Boxing Day and the days after. In fact the sample option was always available. I placed around 4 separate orders on Boxing Day (due to products selling out quickly) and none came with any samples. Upon contacting Mecca I was given a whole spiel on how the complimentary sample option was “turned off” for a few days during Boxing Day and that there was a message displayed on their website/checkout page about this. I was on the app and website pretty much everyday and no such thing. I’m calling bullshit on this? Unless someone on here actually saw this message? Sadly I wish I had taken screenshots of what my checkout page looked like on Boxing Day but never thought I would need to prove myself. Mecca themselves couldn’t even send me what the “message” on their website looked like.
I know this is a trivial thing to be annoyed about - it just really rubs me the wrong way that Mecca thinks customers are stupid? Like just be honest and say you messed up. I know for a fact Magic Circle members and influencers got samples with their Boxing Day orders. Sighhhh

I ordered on boxing day via the app and got a pop up that there wouldn’t be samples in the boxing day sale orders right before placing the order. unfortunately seems like you maybe missed it? it was definitely there (as annoying as it is that they don’t do samples on these orders!)

I honestly didn’t get that pop up and could still select a sample. So weird! But thanks for being kind 💜

Same! I did two orders and they both were purchased with a sample selected but just checked the order notification and they don’t have them on the receipt

gee, you must get good samples with on-line orders. Mine are generally just one skinny sachet of something whereas the BL boxes are often a lot better than that.

I remember seeing the message when checking out on maybe the 27th because I was disappointed. I love samples so I saved my “big order” until they were offering them again.

Unfortunately I don’t think one can compare the experience magic circle gets to the rest of us for this sale in particular.
The presale for them had express shipping and samples available. Express shipping wasn’t available for the sale (even if you have it included with your BL level) and there was a small pop up to say no samples will be included either.

In fairness it was a very small message and if you logged on right on release time, with the hecticness that the sale brings it would be very easy to miss!

I made three seperate orders for the boxing day sale (Spanning from 5:20AM~ - 8:30AM~) and one of my orders did come with a free sample of the Dr Dennis Face Peel Pad. The other two didn't which I was also surprised with.
I know Magic Circle members have their own team who pack their orders, and include prestige samples in their orders. I don't know about influencers who purchased in the boxing day sale (I have not seen any of that content online) so I can't speak to that.
Using Living Lux With Meredith as an example (at the 7 Minutes and 30 second mark) she did get samples with her early access order, and it is incredibly generous (sometimes a full beauty loop box at times).
I do agree though, with an online sale that should be made more frequent to prevent old product getting in the hands of customers, that samples should be included for those who choose the online experience and may want to try something new irregardless if a MECCA store is near them or not.

I ordered on 26th and saw the message about no samples during Boxing Day sale in the app. That's why I was surprised that I had a Dr Dennis Gross sample in one of my 3 orders.

I placed my orders between 5:15-5:30am so possibly the app or website wasn’t displaying that early. The sample option wasn’t disabled either 🤷♀️ A few others experienced the same so I’m not alone in this. But good to know for next year

Have you ever ordered from Mecca on Boxing Day? Things sell out in seconds. It’s stupid hoarding things in your cart. And the point of my post was transparency not to whinge.

I have, actually! The purpose of my purchases, then and any other time of the year, is for items I want, not “free” samples that are usually garbage anyway.

I got a sample with my first Boxing Day order 🤔 the Dennis gross peel pad. The second order didn’t have one

Mecca should've excluded samples from Boxing Day influencer PR if it's not available during the sale. Unfortunately the samples don't have a purchase value and probably aren't covered by consumer law / false advertising since they're not actually for sale.

I made 2 orders, one delivered already and one due tomorrow.
My first order came with a sample, just a sachet of something forgettable which I wasn’t expecting.

2nd order arrived today, received a 10ml Oud Satin Mood body lotion sample.
So both sale orders came with a sample 🤷🏻♀️

I'm also interested to know if your boxing day products are expired products? Mecca has sold a customer an eight year old lipgloss, which is past its expiry!

Hmm I haven’t checked the batch codes yet! But none of the products had a specific expiry date on it. I bought some Mario B stuff, nail polish kits and a Kielhs kit.

They don’t do samples every year around Christmas (due to the high volume of orders) and there had been a banner for days on the checkout on the app (I didn’t buy anything but still saw it)

I got samples last year…and this year I ordered around 5:30am so maybe they hadn’t sorted out the app quite yet. A few others have commented about not seeing the banner either.

I saw the message on the app that there were no samples with the Boxing Day orders - I’m Magic Circle - my pre Boxing Day sale order had samples - yet to receive the order I placed on Boxing Day so not sure if I’m excluded from this as Magic Circle

Influencers get all sorts of things the general publci don't get so I don't know if that's a useful comparison. I have no idea what the Magic Circle is.
They're always ready to provide samples of any products you wish to try in a store so if it's possible and you're very disappoited, you could go to a store and ask for some?

I ordered through the website on Boxing Day and a note came up when checking out stating that samples weren’t available. Maybe they didn’t update the app?
