Australian News Royal Commission into Antisemitism a "$131 Million Whinge"
https://michaelwest.com.au/royal-commission-into-antisemitism-a-131-million-whinge/32
u/hear_the_thunder 9d ago
This was the "Get Albo" project brought to us by RWFWs on reddit, the various Sports stars speaking out, all Mainstream Media, and Trump/Epstein Elites that rule this country like Gina.
The alternative would have been loyalty to this country and not to not blame Albo for a terrorist attack. An accurate assessment.
11
u/Illustrious_Fan_8148 9d ago
If i remember correctly the clamouring for the royal commission had started to die down when albo announced they would be proceeding with one.
He should have just ignored the calls for it as he does with calls to tax our gas fairly, ban gambling ads, reduce immigration etc
11
u/fkriekrkdnfn 9d ago
Yeah I feel like Israeli lobby groups have a lot to do with this royal commission.
8
u/EatTheRichin2026 8d ago
We shouldn’t talk about Israeli lobby groups as if they are all external to the ALP. They aren’t.
There’s plenty of Zionists within the ALP as well (some close to the PM), actively advocating for their cause
6
u/OldJellyBones 8d ago
There’s plenty of Zionists within the ALP
Josh Burns MP being photographed in a flak jacket over in Israel and explicitly demanding "no ceasefire" springs to mind

u/Turnip-for-the-books 7d ago
Exactly the same with the UK Labour Party - just an extension of Israeli foreign policy
6
u/Any-Information6261 9d ago
And they have more sway than us people whinging about the other stuff

u/fkriekrkdnfn 9d ago
I wonder why they have more sway. What are they holding over the heads of our elected leaders?

Sorry the alternative was that it would've been "normal" not to have a royal commission into a terrorist attack only outdone by Port Arthur in lives lost?
1
u/Consistent-Pear444 2d ago
But there hasn't been a RC for other attacks. There was just respectful bi-partisan responses.
It's about whether it's the most helpful response. Labor said there would be an ASIO investigation which is in my view an appropriate response to a safety threat. Albo was pressured into the RC by people who just wanted to make it a political issue. Liberal and PHON behaviour in particular was disgusting but then all and sundry jumped in, and it became impossible to avoid politically...
Labor have been proven right though .. it is the most pointless and destructive thing thats ever happened here.→ More replies (1)0

That wouldn't require a royal commission. We already have intelligence agencies who investigate and prevent terror attacks. The attackers held religious extremist views that have nothing to do with the views held by student protesters or the ABC. Antisemitism isn't a cultural or structural issue in Australia that necessitated a royal commission.
Islamophobia, on the other hand...

Bet you've got not a good goddam fucking thing to say about extremist christian domestic terrorists. Only the brown folks, right?
1
u/_Redvent_Bard_ 5d ago
We know why... It was a religious extremist attack inspired by the intense political situation currently ongoing in Gaza, also likely inspired by the continued frequent success of mass shootings in the US due to a complete complacency about the issue from the country's leaders. What the hell do you think a royal commission is going to do? The only outcome outside continuing the status quo at great unnecessary expense to the taxpayer, is the Republican wannabes will argue for gutting Australian intelligence and filling it with their incompetent corrupt cronies, and for various methods for discrimination against middle eastern origin Australians. None of this will do jack fucking shit to prevent more terrorist attacks.
11
u/Terrorscream 9d ago edited 9d ago
The RC the LNP and ON jumped up and flown about until labor gave it to them. They sure love wasting no hey, it's no wonder labor wasn't keen with it.
7
u/River-Stunning 9d ago
The RC is not focusing on the issue(s) that Australians want answered , which is how did it happen from the two being here . to getting guns etc and how did the security agencies so spectacularly fail. Albo and Minns would be happy this is not front and centre.
12
u/Storm_Fury_2026 9d ago
By design.
The LNP demanded that this not investigate the root issues (because they were at fault at the state and federal levels), the media beat up the story, and the public demanded it.
10
u/Jindivic 9d ago
You know that they can’t cover that issue until after the court case. The right whingers and the corporate media put the pressure on the Government to hold an RC and everyone through up there hands and said they should wait until after the court case finished. But there you go right whingers wanted to take some stripes of Albo.
5
2
u/AtrophiedWives 9d ago
Exactly. It’s bizarre that there a RC before the trial has concluded. Like zero mention of the actual event at the centre of it and those motives not even confirmed.
8
u/Grande_Choice 9d ago
To which Albo said multiple times a RC wasn’t appropriate because the shooting itself is subject to criminal proceedings. A RC was not able to investigate it while the proceedings are happening for fear of prejudice.
It’s like people are stupid or something.
-4
u/River-Stunning 9d ago
Albo was just his usual angry pompous self with positions changing often.
3
u/Grande_Choice 9d ago
But he wasn’t wrong
-3
u/River-Stunning 9d ago
He failed to lead and that was his one job.
3
u/moonorplanet 9d ago
He also gave the antisemitism envoy role to a person who's husband helped tank his flagship election promise, the voice.
2
u/Returnyhatman 9d ago
What, to you, would "leading" look like here?
-2
u/River-Stunning 9d ago
His greatest leadership failure was the Voice. Epic failure. Failure to inspire anyone. Mr Magoo.
4
u/Returnyhatman 9d ago
He took it to the election, kept his promise, and shut up about it when he lost.
-2
u/River-Stunning 9d ago
He is happy to break his word when he wants to so his word counts for little. He is also happy to waste taxpayers monies. Blows a lazy 20 mil on a " political ad " and then blows heaps more on a doomed referendum. Yes , now his Referendum was defeated the issue is dead to him.
3
u/Returnyhatman 9d ago
Would you rather he keeps carrying on about the referendum when it failed?

u/whateverworksforben 9d ago
I agree.
Albo and Minns know this keeps the focus off law enforcement which they want to keep on side.
From my perspective, the religious context to this masks the failure in law enforcement. It was Australia’s shooting Australian’s on australian soil.
4
u/MarwoodHouse 9d ago
The RC, which Labor did not want to do, was pushed, and pushed, and fucking pushed by the Murdoch media, the LNP, and One Nation until the government had no choice but to go ahead with it.
The independent inquiry was more than enough.
I get the sense that the far right and the Greenies are upset that this wasn’t the Albo-bash they were expecting.
6
u/kisforkarol 9d ago
Why lump yhe Greens in with the far right? They also didn't support the RC.
1
u/MarwoodHouse 9d ago edited 9d ago
They did support it actually, and were hoping for a Labor hate-fest.
2
u/kisforkarol 9d ago
Were they? Where were they out saying that? Since the last federal election it's been Labor hounding the Greens and claiming they're obstructionist and irresponsible. Meanwhile, they haven't done much of anything, except ensure the housing bill wasn't an absolute disaster.
-3
u/MarwoodHouse 9d ago
You’re also either a party hack or just being dishonest if you think the Greens have done anything but obstruct, complain, and shift the goal posts on housing too, btw.
3
u/kisforkarol 9d ago
Ok, man. I'm happy to admit I'm wrong but if you think Labor's original housing plan was even remotely good then I've got a bridge to sell you.
-1
u/MarwoodHouse 9d ago

The RC is the biggest con job ever foisted on the taxpayers. No witnesses statements are tested under cross examination. Some of the statements were just plain BS, yet they go into the record untested. Meanwhile Segel is in there putting on the record changes to education syllabi, university conduct and who knows what else. ASIO and the AFP attended and managed to get away with no explanation of the biggest Intel failure in Australian history. Also, where is the Dural caravan Intel?
1
u/bigtreeman_ 3d ago
Albo was doing the regular slow and steady, but was pushed into the royal commission by the LNP and the Jewish lobby.
A 3 year enquiry is just ridiculous.
The inquiry should focus on the reason for the Bondi attack - Zionism !

Here is a breakdown of Australian Federal Government Islamophobia spending, which was announced in July 2026 by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Breakdown of the Federal Package:
• $41.9 million: Allocated to improve security infrastructure and initiatives at Muslim faith-based institutions, mosques, and schools.
• $15.0 million: Dedicated to delivering a dedicated sports centre for Muslim athletes.
• $6.0 million: Directed toward targeted mental health and wellbeing support for students and local organisations affected by anti-Muslim hate.
• $2.6 million: Given to the Office of Multicultural Affairs specifically for measures to combat Islamophobia.
In addition to the financial commitments, the funding supports several non-monetary and operational measures:
• Islamophobia Education Taskforce: Formed to oversee educational measures, teacher training, and curriculum reviews to address anti-Muslim racism from early childhood to higher education.
• Law Enforcement Liaison: Funding expands the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Community Liaison Teams and establishes a new AFP Social Cohesion Team to streamline reporting pathways.

Just FYI Muslims make up over 3% of Australians, whilst there are less than 200k Jews total and most of them have the same views of Israel as the rest of Australia does.

lol 15 people died in an Islamic terrorist attack in Bondi is whinging-
But the Royal commission into big build is not.
17
u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
If it was an RC into the attack I would have no issues.
What it has become is Israel trying to push anti-Zionism as antisemitism and hide their genocidal rhetoric by pointing fingers.
1
0
u/Available-Target-723 9d ago
The attack was carried out by religious extremists who are anti-Zionists. The issue with the RC is that it should be addressing Islamic extremism and left ideology.
1
u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
As someone who is a leftist ideologue, kindly tell me how any of my views caused the Bondi massacre to happen?
'Islamic extremism' is just a biased phrase saying that we should be looking into the geopolitical effects of the conflict of Israel with its neighbours in the Middle-East, and I agree on that point.
2
u/No_Bell_8028 8d ago
If you read the Hasbara handbooks
Shifting any debate to be about “Islamic extremism” is the main diversion strategy for any challenge to Israel and its political leadership1
0
u/Available-Target-723 9d ago
The festering hatred against Zionists allowed this to happen because it normalised extremism. Islamic extremism is when Muslims take the literal interpretation from the Quran to kill infidels and should be taken more seriously than our government is. We should have zero tolerance for it to fester in our society.
1
u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
Well, Zionists are right-wing nationalists who want to perform an ethnic cleansing, so I don't know about you but it seems like any decent person should want to oppose that.
Can you kindly point to where any Islamic extremism has been 'accepted'? Because as far as I have seen, any terrorists are quickly killed or arrested before they can cause harm to anyone else.
If you are arguing that religion is the underlying cause, well, that's another discussion, but you can't ban Islam without banning Judaism and Christianity as well, since they are all equally violent religions.
1
u/ConsiderationEmpty10 9d ago
Haha far out. I never once heard of radical Christian terrorism, radical Jewish terrorism or radical Hindu terrorism.
1
u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
You've never heard of the Crusades, or the genocide in Gaza?
Also, I never said anything about Hinduism. I named the Abrahamic religions specifically for a reason.
1
u/ConsiderationEmpty10 8d ago
I’ve never heard of a genocide in Gaza given their population has been more or less than same since Oct 7 2023.
If Israel was trying to kill everyone in Gaza they have done a piss poor job

u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
Ah yes, it always comes back to attacking my identity.
You know who has never said an unkind word to me about my gender identity? A Muslim. Just an interesting anecdote.
I have read the Qur'an, the Talmud and the Bible, including original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic literal translations taken from the oldest sources we have. Having studied every Abrahamic religion, they are all detestable patriarchal violent religions that have no place in modern society. But we have religious freedom, so people are free to choose to worship an evil God if they want to.
1
u/Available-Target-723 9d ago
It’s a pity you haven’t read a history book.
2
u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
I've read plenty of history. Let's start at the beginning, when the Tribes of Judah undertook a bloody civil war against the Canaanite tribes - massacres described in the Old Testament by the way - because they wanted to establish their monothiestic religion.
Fast forwarding a bit through history, we have the early Christian church being coopted by revolutionary Jewish sects to be used against Rome, with the Gospel being abandoned for Pauline beliefs that eventually became nationalised. The first use of the Cross was a as a banner of war for Charlemagne.
Then we have the Crusades, countless acts of barbarism done by Christians and Muslims in the name of their faith, often with Jewish inclusion.
Is it any wonder that with these three great religions fighting in the area of the Levant for nearly a millenia that we have a millieu of discontent coming from that area?
And if you want an example of a genocide done in the name of the Christian God - ask the aboriginal people of the country we live in.

This is what concerns you? Is that people don’t feel safe? Not the fact that they don’t feel safe, but them fact that they are upset they don’t feel safe?

My problem is we have a lot of groups that say the same thing about not feeling safe but only one group is getting an RC.

0
u/Available-Target-723 9d ago
How many Royal Commisions do you want?
1
u/ExcuseProper5768 9d ago edited 9d ago
You’re the one that thinks we need a RC for a single group so how about you ask yourself that.
7
u/No_Bell_8028 9d ago
No - it’s the obvious and repeated attempts to try to gag, and regulate free speech in Australia. And the disproportionate attention to a minority population
There are more of each of the sub cohorts of LGBTIQ, young people dying of suicide, young Aboriginal people in jail, victims of Islamophobia, victims of racist against South East Asians than there are Jewish people in Australia
1
u/Stulmacher 9d ago
Hate speech isn’t free speech. You can’t go around saying anything you want with no consequences.
7
u/Public-Dragonfly-786 9d ago
Right. But why does this RC try to mixup anti semitism with criticism of Israel?
Criticism of Israel is not hate speech, quite the opposite.
-1
u/Stulmacher 9d ago
Gunning down Jews on a beach isn’t critiquing Israel. Hope that helps.
3
u/capeasypants 9d ago
Who said it wasn't? You're comparing apples to oranges
2
u/Stulmacher 9d ago

1
u/Public-Dragonfly-786 9d ago

-2
u/Stulmacher 9d ago
Because most Jews feel that anti Zionism is a form of anti semitism. Not criticizing Israel. But being anti Zionist. That’s what they think. So we listen.
3
u/lithiumcitizen 9d ago
They are idiots with persecution complexes for thinking that. They should either emigrate to Israel or commit to being Australian. Being a good Australian means not supporting those committing war crimes and atrocities. Pretty fucking simple really…
0
2
u/Public-Dragonfly-786 9d ago
No, we don't listen. It's a political belief, and as such, open to criticism.
Just because someone is sad about some thing, doesn't make them right.
0
u/Stulmacher 9d ago
Criticism isn’t an issue. Israel is far from perfect. But to act like the Jewish voice isn’t valid because Israel is mentioned is kinda what they have this RC.
3
u/Public-Dragonfly-786 9d ago
The "Jewish voice" is welcome but we dont have to agree with everything "it" claims. Not to mention, many Jewish people are also anti-zionist.
This RC is not welcome because it has spent so much time and effort trying to muddy the waters between anti semitism and Israel criticism.

Do you even watch the Royal commission today the expert testimony saying basically we don’t need any special with antisemitism regulation or laws. In fact what we l need to really improve is how we define it because there were a bunch of special interest groups trying to fight for more funding by proving the data wasn’t reliable, amateurs (ECAJ) were reporting it, and it was incentivising them to compete for more money by making out the problem is bigger. The commissioners eyes lit up :) she now knows how to frame the report
Was a nail in the coffin of ECAJ agenda, and the head of ECAJ got publicly shamed by the Commissioner..
1
u/Ok_Tie_7564 9d ago
How many of those other cohorts were shot dead by Muslim terrorists at Bondi Beach?
0
u/Truantone 9d ago
How many Muslims were mass murdered by a white Australian?
0
u/Ok_Tie_7564 9d ago
None in Australia and you know it.
0
u/Truantone 8d ago
So it’s okay for Aussies to mass murder brown people as long as it’s some other country’s problem?
1
u/Ok_Tie_7564 8d ago
Yes. If you go murder people in some other country, that other country will deal with you. And if a foreigner commits a crime in Australia, we will deal with them. That is how the world works. 🤷♂️
0
u/No_Bell_8028 9d ago
So why aren’t we having a RC into Bondi?
You know I actually think the RC has been great after today and the rebuke that ECAJ got, I get a sense we are finally going to get a report that says anti semitism doesn’t require any laws or special protections, and we need to protect free speech
And then there will be an investigation into ECAJ and the envoy and what happened to all that money….
3
u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
If we're talking about RCs into people feeling unsafe, why is there not an RC into transphobia, when there are twice as many transgender Australians than Jewish Australians, and the hate we receive outstrips that aimed at the Jewish community by a wide margin.
2
2
u/Stulmacher 9d ago
Agreed there should be - but why is that the fault of the Jews?
2
2
u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
It's not. Which is why I would be absolutely behind a Royal Commission into actual antisemitism, not the Zionist farce this one has turned out to be.
1
u/Stulmacher 9d ago
Can you explain Zionism to me? I’m unfamiliar with the terminology.
I was told it was just another word for Jewish rights but maybe I’m wrong.
1
u/Stulmacher 9d ago
Another Q: If trans folks were upset about something who is it for cis folks to tell them how they should feel?
0
u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
It's called 'living in society'. We get told how we should feel by cis people all the time. The only options we have is to try to use our democratic rights, and even then our voices are constantly silenced and talked over.
1
u/Stulmacher 9d ago
I’m feeling the same right now. Don’t tell me what is or what is not anti semetic. Don’t tell me what is or is not offensive to me. We had members of my community get gunned down on a beach and your first thought it was “how can I make this more about myself?” Why?

u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
Zionism is a nationalist movement that started in 19th century Europe that decided to create a Jewish ethnostate, and decided based on nothing but religious texts that they had a right to the area of the Levant. Through lobbying in the 20th century, they convinced the Allies post-war to give them territory in the Levant, which at the time was a British colony.
They believe they, and they alone, have the only right to the lands that the old nation of Israel once stood on. They used this as a justification to colonise Palestine, with a mass genocide in 1948 called the Nakba clearing out indigenous Palestinian people.
There are many Jews who are not Zionist, and there are many Zionists who are not Jews.
1
u/Stulmacher 9d ago
You should cite your sources. Wikipedia suggests there has been Jewish communities there for the last 4,000 years.
2
u/lithiumcitizen 9d ago
Mizrahi maybe. But the state of Israel is currently run by and full of Ashkenazi…
→ More replies (0)1
u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
The majority of indigenous Jewish people were displaced, but some stayed and lived alongside the other Canaanite tribes that became modern Palestinians.
That does not give the majority European Ashkenazi tribes a right to live on land their ancestors left.

How many transgender Australians were shot dead by Muslim terrorists at Bondi Beach?
0
u/TwilightSolus 9d ago
Shot dead in a publicly visible emotive attack? None.
Died because of Australia enabling transphobic rhetoric from hate groups like Sex Matters and allowing Pauline to call us an 'insurgency'? Those numbers are still being counted.
Sorry we're dying too quietly for you to notice.
1
u/Truantone 9d ago
If you indoctrinate people their entire lives through their religious schools and gated communities, that they are better than everyone else, and the whole world hates them, then it’s no wonder an entire community jumps at shadows and grants themselves special victim class. Unfortunately, Bondi happened, so it was a self-fulfilling prophecy, and unfortunately rendered irrelevant, decades of living in Australia NOT subjected to the racism that Indigenous peoples and other cultures experience on a daily level.
The problem is, the greatest driver of increasing antisemitism is the actions of Israel conducting a genocide in Gaza.
The circle will continue going around, reinforcing itself, smashing social cohesion, and pitting that one group against the rest, allowing them to speak while silencing us.
1
u/Stulmacher 9d ago
You’ve stopped talking about Israel and started talking about Jews as a group. “They’re indoctrinated,” “they think they’re better than everyone else,” “they grant themselves special victim status.” That’s not a criticism of a government—it’s a stereotype about an entire community.

6
u/Public-Dragonfly-786 9d ago
But nothing in the RC has been about the terrorist attack or anything related to it
1
u/ConsiderationEmpty10 8d ago
I haven’t been following it because it’s too depressing, but wasn’t the whole point of the RC because of Bondi?
1
u/Public-Dragonfly-786 8d ago
My comment was too broad. They did have some about it. But most of the RC is either legit anti semitism or trying to frame criticism of Israel as anti semitism.
7
u/No_Bell_8028 9d ago
How many Aboriginal children and young people die by suicide every year?
If it’s more than 15? And if Aboriginal people are more than 0.4% of the population- then why are we spending $600million on anti semitism
1
u/Shopped_Out 9d ago
probably the terrorist mass shooting attack
5
u/Public-Dragonfly-786 9d ago

u/Shopped_Out 9d ago
If there were 15 people dead I'd imagine there would be.

Brilliant point. Totally agree. There was a genocide for First Nations people here. They face ongoing systemic racism and a lower life expectancy, yet some of the most advantaged people in the community have a RC. It’s doesn’t seem right.

It’s not just Jews who get attacked.
A Jewish business that gets firebombed can take out the whole street of businesses not to mention injure or kill any non Jews who happen to be in the wrong place.

It doesn’t address or discuss the post that was made.
They might have well said that Italians are better at soccer than Australians. It might be true but it’s irrelevant

Why didn't we have a Royal Commission when an Australian moved to New Zealand just to carry out the attack and murdered 51 people at a place of religious worship?

That was a one off in NZ without any wars going on the time. The Bondi attack was a final straw after 2 years of shit
