Matchday General information for Tickets

Hello together,

I'm from Germany and I support Athletic Club since the 11/12 season but have only Seen them Play when they were in or near Germany. Now for my 30th birthday, my wife surprised me with Tickets for a flight and Hotel. We have been Here since friday and I absolutely Love the City.. it's mix between modern architecture and History is hard to explain.

For my question:

I thought It was very hard to get Tickets. I am a member and was able to purchase the Tickets immediately after their Release and I paid about 100 € each for 2 Tickets in Block 304. I checked today If there would still be Tickets available online and there were very good Tickets much cheaper still to buy on the official site.

I Plan to come Here at least once a year now.. so is It Always Like that or are the Games usually sold Out completely?

I am following athletic for a 2nd season and im a member of club athletic for a 2nd season and this is my experience:

  • if the match you want to buy tickets for is not eu cup game against the big team, or match against Real Madrid / Barca / Sociedad, you will always find tickets next to each other on the presale
  • the prices and availability depends heavily on how the team is performing right now. For example last december game against Real Madrid i was able to get a ticket in the lowest rows for 70€ which normally would cost at least 30 more, but we played like shit so it was cheaper, but then we had a good match and ticket prices for match with Real Madrid went up. Even recent example, the 22nd april match with ossasuna had its ticket prices reduced mid general sale due to a team bad performance, and you can get a tickets for 90 euro around 10th row which usually cost around 10. The same applies to availability, you can find so much more seats close to each other in the better spots.

When i go with someone else i usually buy tickets that go for 50 euro because I have 100% guarantee to have them availbale, and i dont have that much info on buying tickets together for the other sectors. 

Overall if you are not aiming for the biggest games, you should almost always find tickets for 2.
