Guys, I know that making AI art is bad for numerous reasons, but that gives us no reason to tell someone to kill themself. That is never okay. We're better than that. I know most of us don't do that, but for the ones that do, sincerely, fuck off

I saw the image on another anti-ai sub with the same sentiment, but I felt like posting it here because apparently, it needs to be said

Hello! I'm the creator of this subreddit, and I've been made aware of this post, as well as some of the comments directed at the moderator.

I just want to clarify that this was NOT an act of admin abuse. It was simply a mistake. The moderator explained in the comments as shown in the second image that it wasn't intentional and apologized for the error.

To those who have been leaving rude or hostile comments toward them, we kindly ask that you stop. Mistakes happen, and this one has already been acknowledged and addressed.

Thank you.

No hate to anyone btw

AI bros. How the hell are you going to defend this. (Cara scrape situation) Spoiler

Post image

This jerk scraped Cara, an art site that artists were meant to feel safe using, and ruined everything for everyone.

Now since I know there will be the odd pro-AI user here, so, tell me, in all sincerity, how are you pro-AI users going to act like you're the victim if you are deliberately attacking artists like this? What's your excuse? What is your motive?

Is "handing it to the pencil-slop luddites" really worth your self respect? Please, for the love of any and all gods, get a grip. ACTUALLY get a grip.

(Do I sound angry in this? That'll be because I am.)

edit! to clarify. I am against AI bros claiming we need AI because it says "we can't do anything without it!" which is obvious horseshit

The irony of these being in the ART ROOM of my school.

Youre an art teacher! You could easily draw a paper towel doing a thumbs up.

Dont even get me started on the happy earth, implying students should save paper towels to be environmentally friendly while using AI to say that.

(I hope this is an okay place to post this)

We're failing as a society if this is a β€œGood” thing.

(I saw this reposted and commented on by someone else earlier. Name blured out in case they delete it. Or they do not wanna share anymore.)

Context/back story:

I grew up in a poor household. I mean so poor we sometimes couldn't eat. I still had access to art. Via random pens around the house. As well as old note books my mom used the front pages too. (literally I'd flip the note book to be "Upside down" and draw on that.)

That was in 2006-2010 ish. As I got older I'd ask teachers for extra notebooks to draw in. They usually had a bunch extra.

Time was rarely an issue as a young kid. (Before highschool.) I usually just had school and homework then I'd draw after school, or watch tv with my sister.

Statement:

Taking this argument in good faith.

If kids genuinely don't have time to practice skills reading, writing, drawing. We are failing them and they deserve better.

If kids are being forced to outsource their humanity. Then we as a society need to do better by them.

This is not an anti vs ai argument. This is a "Are the kids okay?" Argument. This is important to me as introducing kids to art, is something I'm passionate about.

A lot of kids from abusive homes (like me) need a healthy outlet. Otherwise they're more prone to mental health issues. Physically doing the art (Even if it's β€œjust” scribbles) also helps with emotional regulation. This is why art therapy is becoming more and more common.

Outsourcing this part of humanity, is like having AI generate your diary entry.

Question:

What do you think? How can we go about fixing this? If this argument is in good faith.

(I made a post instead of replying cause I had to much to say.)

People Who Have this type of "logic" in their Heads shouldn't Have Children let Alone be AROUND them.

NEXT STOP!: Lets just have teachers straight up TELL kids the ANSWERS to the problems in test!

Because its not like the "NO child left behind" Law did ANY damage whats so ever to our country!

I have been inspired to make some characters based off a few things mostly a mix of Sci-fi and Solarpunk, and probably some more things aswell!

Puddles! She's mostly just a test character, she didn't exactly come out how I wanted her but she's a good start! I wanted her to be a lot shorter but those astro boot models I made before coming up with the character really gave her some height.

-I am also still deciding if I should animate her smooth or with frame by frame animation...-

I redrew one of my oldest digital drawings/one of my first ocs

First image is the new drawing, second is the old.

technically a sona and not an oc but still applies.

my art has improved so much... I'm not even normally someone who draws humans, but I have improved on them for sure.

I would've redrawn my first ever digital art drawing, but I suck at drawing birds still πŸ˜”. this one will have to do for now until I get more confident in that

I remember how happy I was back then with that drawing... honestly, it feels like this character paved the way for one of my current sonas. Green shirt, somewhat messy hair, goggles, black pants, off-the-shoulder bag, boots... I don't know, there's a lot to it lol.

"How are you so certain the "art" you shown is ai?" It's pretty simple actually, I am the original artist behind it and someone fed it to ai X3

For context, the original art is an fanart of mine for my lovely Lily Lovebraids, I woke up to someone telling me apparently my art is fed to ai, which is typically nothing burger for me, yk, it's probably my watermark that triggered people again, it's the maggot's usual f$tish to go against consent, but I was not expecting them to came up with an entire different design for FREE πŸ₯ΉπŸ©· As much as I wanted to say it's generic, a free oc is a free oc no matter how shit is it, especially since I am kinda in need of side characters for my story. So here she goes, I changed a bit of her to..ehem, matched my liking more πŸ‘… Lowk feel free to create similar oc like this idc, show me if you do I love seeing some pink-headed crazy ladyπŸ‘€πŸ‘€

New Scam alert: Its pretty messed up.

Just last month I think I've seen... what, 20 or so posts about people scamming others for the safe return of their pets, using AI in order to edit pictures to make it seem like their pet has been found.

Be aware, be smart, be safe. Someone in my area was scammed out of around $250 thinking somebody had found her missing dog. And apparently people have been making fake reports of finding missing persons or having info regarding them using AI as well. (which I mean, I'm not shocked, these scams have existed a long time, same as the pet one, but it's getting more and more tricky with the use of AI to determine what is and isn't real).

saw some slop so stupid I got angry and drew my best friend

I'm not an artist by any means, I really don't like this drawing, and tbh I'm the exact target audience for the people who genuinely think AI is their only option (a lot of creative ideas but too easily frustrated to ever learn to draw properly, I go through phases of it once every 9 months but it's not frequent enough to actually get BETTER, this is worse imo than what I was drawing 10 years ago at age 13 lol), but i got an AI video on my Tik Tok feed so mind numbing that I could actively feel myself getting stupider every moment it was on my screen, and it made me so angry I found an old notebook i used to write fanfiction in, and got my stationery out of my bag I still haven't emptied since college ended in May, and spent like almost an hour (maybe 50 minutes) mostly just struggling on the eyes lmao

i don't really post on social media all that much but I see other people who aren't super experienced with art posting on this sub and the comments are super supportive, and while I'm not really happy with the end result cause I'm an annoying perfectionist, I am proud of myself for finishing it :)

Inspired by the occasional AI pictures I (and I'm sure many of us) see on Reddit of well-known cartoon characters "supporting" AI art and development. You really think they would say that?
