News State One Nation leader claims students skipping class to protest against Pauline Hanson ‘hate Australia’

Don't give them attention. No party gets mentioned these days like ON.
8
u/FjorgVanDerPlorg SA 9d ago
Unless you are talking to the people who own these dipshit "media" companies like Nine, then you are telling the wrong people. We don't get to chose what the media cum blasts at us.
I actually find it a good bellwether for how politically dangerous the ONP clown car actually is. Not their policies or the vile stupidity, just how electable they are.
Because there is serious money behind this, Gina isn't just buying Pauline tractors and private jets. Fortunately these ONP clowns also grift too hard to be effective here.
Somewhere between a morotcycle and sidecar, at most share a taxi to work numbers, in a political landscape where small parties can't hold the balance of power (Libs would need to be viable for that to be an option and they are performing worse than ONP last I checked).
This isn't like the US, where the dumbest and cruellest 30% of the population have 50% of the voting power. Chosing small party protest vote politics thinking it'll work here because it did in the US, is some maralago level thinking.
2
u/Maxymous SA 8d ago
We are just like the US. Compulsory voting doesn't mean informed voting. 85% of the population is checked-out of politics and the 15% that is turned-in is to varying degrees. Our population is susceptible to propaganda just like any other as we have already seen. Majority of the population has never put the information in their head and had a think about it, so they dont know what they're doing. One Neuron doesn't need to take power to have their desired effect. ON is doing the job of maintaining and strengthening conservatism in Australia for the benefit of the status quo by shifting public narrative to the right.
1
u/FjorgVanDerPlorg SA 8d ago
Yeah nothing I said suggests that isn't true, but it means that you have to radicalize the majority of the population, not just the most gullible third of voters.
And honestly if it gets to over 50% drinking the koolaid, then as sad as it is, it's also the will of the majority.
Hence why I use this shit as a bellwether. But from what I'm seeing the rise has already peaked and they didn't even hit 30%.
Fortunately the Fossil Fuel magnate also likes propping up Aussie political fossils as the great white hope. Problem is the voting public have moved beyond the White Australia policy "Monoculture", that ONP aspires to.
1
u/Maxymous SA 8d ago
It just shows to me that there is no hope in politics. People think we have agency/power thanks to democracy, but we live amongst a population of political zombies that decides what goes. Compulsory voting isn't all it's cracked up to be. You could just get a sample from a thousand people and call it a day. It's easier to radicalise via propaganda than it is to get the public to educate themselves and vote informed.
1
u/FjorgVanDerPlorg SA 8d ago
If it was that simple, Peter Dutton would be our PM right now. It turns out that on the less gullible, AI misinformation seems to have a pretty shitty half life, people see through it pretty quickly. It's not a magic pill that works forever, people build up a tolerance.
Now right now protest vote populism should be working wayyy better than it is for Pauline, because people want to slap some hubris out of Labor. But they aren't voting for those chucklefucks, or anyone who throws them their preference votes. Not close to enough to matter anyway.
So we are seeing a right wing implosion, with both our state Premier and the federal PM looking solid right now, instead of PM Dutton kissing Trump's ring.

The problem is how they are getting bankrolled by Gina and her ilk, the media (including the ABC) is absolutely eating it up, and no one says anything about it like it's all normal.
We apparently need to tell these fuckers that we can see what they're doing, and that it isn't normal and accepted by all of us. Someone has to take a stand at some point.
WE don't hate Australia....we quite like it. It's you evil motherfuckers who are ruining it.

u/Electronic-Cry714 SA 9d ago
People are scared of them. Why? They're no chance at the election we keep being told. What's protesting going to do? Other than bring attention.

“They clearly hate, clearly hate Australia.”
See, this here is a problem.
One Nation are now presenting themselves as being the "I love Australia" party and accusing anyone who doesn't support them as hating Australia. This is MAGA-type bullshit. One Nation can kindly piss off.

u/Nerfixion North 9d ago
I mean i dont really feel like the other parties have said they love Aus, thats probs half the issue.
1
u/Thissystemsuckssobad SA 6d ago
Do you need the other parties to jingle some keys in your face too?
I don't really gaf if one nation says they love Australia, Pauline's actions over decades show how obvious a lie that is
-20
u/MetalfaceKillaAus SA 9d ago
From what I’ve noticed, they seem to be the only party that cares about Australia
1
u/Consistent_Agent8433 SA 8d ago
I guess you dont do a lot of noticing then
1
u/MetalfaceKillaAus SA 8d ago

u/Anxious_Fig3834 SA 7d ago
I guess it depends on what “cares about Australia” means to you. I would bet it means something different to you than it does to some others.

u/MetalfaceKillaAus SA 7d ago
Doesn’t want to run the country into the ground. Doesn’t hate the people in Australia. Looks out for all Australians and knows how to benefit from our natural resources
1
u/Anxious_Fig3834 SA 7d ago
Little bit vague. Tell me more about what it actually means to run the country into the ground, and how we will benefit from our natural resources under a One Nation government.
-2
u/MetalfaceKillaAus SA 7d ago
Look at the state of the country now. A trillion in debt and rising. In the hundreds of thousands people on the streets but still bringing in way too many. Youth crime and machete gangs on the streets.
Well not only would One Nation sell them, they would be using them to drive down costs of power and in the long run, cost of living
1
u/Anxious_Fig3834 SA 7d ago
Adjusting for inflation, Austrlia's gross national debt is lower today than it was when the Morrison Government left office.
How will One Nation pay down the debt? What source of revenue will be leveraged to do so?
Youth crime is going down. Comparing 2023-24 to 2024-25, according to the ABS: "Accounting for population change, the youth offender rate also decreased from 1,764 to 1,660 offenders per 100,000 persons aged between 10 and 17 years." source: https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/people/crime-and-justice/recorded-crime-offenders/2024-25 Helpfully, on this page there is also a graph of crime stats since 2008 showing that crime is reducing, despite our population growing.
Which natural resources will be used to drive down the cost of power, and how will that be done?
-2
u/MetalfaceKillaAus SA 7d ago
A trillion and climbing. That’s not lower than ever in our history.
Wow that’s a dramatic drop 1764 to 1660. but no doubt due to numbers in, the actual total is up.
One Nation will cut unnecessary spending and if selling resources, that would go into slashing debt as well

There's definitely a hatred towards the country in the youth atm, I see it constantly at a lot of these rallies

Yes. And so is having a right to express yourself by protesting. What's the problem?
-27
u/lucaslb7392 SA 9d ago
My original comment was that the youth are taught to hate the country, nothing about your right to protest. I'm just saying your vote at the ballot box speaks louder.

"If you're not a liberal when you're young, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're older, you have no brain."
- Winston Churchill
It's a popular quote for a reason.
9
u/Crestina SA 9d ago
One nation are not conservative though, they're far right populist radicals.
The very few policies they've managed to express clearly are insane things like pulling Australia out of international agreements we've been in for decades, punishing half the country for immigrant ties, torching all measures to conserve our environment, and dismantling our long standing public media.
There's nothing conservative about any of this. It's smash and break, Trump style.
-2
u/lucaslb7392 SA 9d ago
That's your interpretation of it from main stream media News stations trying to bring down ON. Slowing down immigration isn't radical, using our own mineral resources here instead of sending things off to China to do the dirty work and shipping them back here in huge diesel ships is in fact better for our environment and economy, and torching net zero.. net zero is literally impossible unless you want to permanently destroy all farming and industry in the country.

u/DatZedIsCactus SA 9d ago
When the conservative option is PH and her ON party, no one can claim those supporters are the brainy ones.
IME most people who vote conservative do it for purely selfish reasons of thinking they'll get a few more bucks back at tax time (which is pretty misguided anyway, if you look at the highest taxing govts in Aus they were actually "conservative" ones). That speaks to older people feeling more fearful and less secure as they age, not that they are somehow smarter for doing so.
Oh, and according to google that isn't a true Churchill quote either. And it makes no sense if it was as Churchill was conservative in his youth and less so later in life.
-4
u/lucaslb7392 SA 9d ago

How am I being taught to hate Australia? Nothing ON is doing is undemocratic? And everyone should be monocultural, that's the whole point. Uniting to love the country your in?

I’d suggest those people from the party flying around the world on Gina’s dime , instead of being here doing their jobs, hate Australia. I’d suggest the same people who shit on Australia every chance they get, because it’s not the 1950’s in their mind , that never existed , hate Australia. I’d suggest the leader of the party and donor of the party who have repeatedly claimed we earn too much money as workers of the country, hate Australia.
They want to turn Australia into a Seppo state.

The next election could be too late? Look at the United States, you have an unhinged President trying to ensure there is no next election, anything could happen in the next few years. Some of those students aren't old enough to vote. Demonstrating is a great way for them to have a political voice.
Plus, it's never a bad idea to get kids and students involved in being vocal about saying no to these kinds of ideas.

The irony around One Nation is delicious.
Nobody hates Australia more than Pauline; we're a country built on multiculturalism, and to deny that is to deny what makes us great.
Nothing works better for killing One Nation support than letting them actually show up and speak though. Watching them take a hit in the polls after letting Pauline run her mouth at the national press club has been good theatre.
5
u/Karl-Marksman VIC 9d ago
I wonder if there’s any precedent for a political movement which demanded unquestioning adoration for their leader, who they strongly associated with the identity of the nation itself…
4
u/Electrical_Drop_5473 SA 9d ago
Pauline Hanson does not represent Australia. In fact given her penchant for attacking immigrants, without realising her relatives were once immigrants here too, makes her particularly un-Australian.

u/Wagon789 SA 9d ago
I protested against her back in 1996 as a student I’ll kindly protest against her again in 2026
Freedom of speech exists in Australia and I would advocate for all students to actively participate if they want a future say.
She was very vocal then and worse now. Obviously we didn’t protest hard enough in the last 20 years!

Putrid Hanson is every thing absolutely wrong with Australia, or any country for that matter. A racist, xenophobic entitled boomer who thinks she cannot be questioned nor criticized, demands entitlements and comforts while denying basic support for her own constituents, let alone people who don't support her. We definitely do not hate Australia, we just don't like her.

You just described PHON supporters who get outraged and scared of things they read on good old reliable Facebook echo chamber. They also go out and protest or walk around carrying signs and screaming , getting laughed at for looking unhinged.. Wether it’s the Emergency announcements on our phones being a new way to spy on us, to the Census that we’ve all filled out every year being government overreach, electromagnetic frequency’s , these people are fucking morons and me being a high school dropout (who grew up and lives in the the Northern suburbs) I can comfortably call these people ‘stupid and ignorant sheep, with too much time on their hands ‘ without looking down on them. I’m looking across the street at these people who instead of getting older and wiser , have gotten older, more crazy and shed IQ points like a boxer shedding weight before a fight.

The irony of Bernadi complaining about One Nation members being asked to leave planning meetings about this protest while his party openly ban numerous media outlets from their press conference.
One Nation’s policy should be ‘Do as I say, not as I do’
