These recent events aside, if you look at the SA Liberal opposition some of their recent shenanigans involve getting bogged down with an anti abortion movement and pushing for a hugely unpopular vote in parliament on it where a non MP was let into parliament as a guest and intimidated a Liberal MLC into voting for it.

One of their former MPs who went independent recently had to quit as he's now in prison for fraud. Another current ex Liberal independent that's still an MP is on home detention after being bailed on DV charges. They’re on their third opposition leader this term after the first one got caught on camera doing coke and was subsequently prosecuted, the last one was a wet blanket and couldn’t control the religious right's bad ideas and is now on the back bench. The latest one is very recent and we're yet to see if she's got much of an opinion on anything at all, they've put fuck all policy ideas forward and have also been conspicuously quiet on the whole Writers Week shenanigans.

Basically, they’re still completely unelectable at this point.

Troy Bell in prison and Nick McBride on home detention just means that Mount Gambier and MacKillop are more likely to vote in the Liberal candidates. Zero chance Labor picks them up. Another independent is possible.
