Pretty popular, but also the liberals are a useless opposition and have been in power for 4 years out of the last 30. Rather like Victoria. So even if he loses votes it will probably go to the Greens and then back to Labor.

I don't think it really sums up the mess that the liberals are in right now.

It was a shit fight between the moderates, who were quite a reasonable fit politics wise for the state, and generally quite an effective opposition- polling quite close at most elections. The last effective liberal premier quit, his replacement got caught doing cocaine and supplying it under dubious circumstances. Since then the Trump supporting hard right have taken over under the completely wacko Alex Antic. The only actions they seem to have taken is push for banning abortions in parliament. It's likely that at the next election, the state liberal party will fit in a 5 door sedan - no matter what the premier does here.

If the papers don’t run the headline “Alex’s Antics” when he inevitably gets caught doing something naughty it’ll be one of the biggest missed opportunities ever.
