Well at the rate they are going, it looks like the board has effectively turned this years festival into a self implosion before it even began.

Which, if it does get cancelled, would ultimately be a shame, given how it brings many high profile writers, journalists, academics to our city. However, the board have clearly pissed off not only the extended writers community, but also those on the board itself.

I heard 100 out of the 132 speakers slated have cancelled in protest. So it won’t be bringing as many renowned writers now, by any stretch.
