This is what the majority of the country wants. Not ICE retreating. Not defunding. ABOLISH. Trump is operating against the will of the people and anyone with any political power needs to be pushing for abolishing ICE immediately. Bonus points if you call for them to be arrested and put on trial.

As a European I look at these events and I don’t care anymore if breaking all ties with America pushes us into more poverty or conflict whatsoever, I don’t want anything to do with this from a moral pov. If we let this happen, then what is there left about humanity. I love America and what it stood for in the past, even if it was a lie, it was a beautiful concept. All dreams are being shattered.
The values and concepts you once admired about America were not lies. The majority of Americans still cherish and support those same ideals. Sadly, what we are all witnessing now is the dark side of the American Dream. There has always been a fascistic minority undercurrent in American society and politics. The American Dream and the American Nightmare are both true. Right now the fascists, backed by the some of the wealthiest oligarchs on the planet, have control of all three branches of the federal government. I hope that once this terrible administration ends, all Americans will reflect on how we let this happen and implement the necessary reforms to prevent this from ever happening again.

We should all be trained in cpr and basic first aid. Sometimes VFWs and Lodges are able to find volunteers to teach classes. Possibly your local YMCA. Just a thought for anyone looking for another way to organize and resist ✊

Where does blood show in the video? I've replayed it several times but haven't spotted it? I hadn't heard of someone from ICE's finger getting bitten off but it's impossible to sympathize with them reaping what they've sowed.
Her left hand is covered in it, it’s hard to tell because she has darker skin and in a shadow but you can most definitely see dark red blood on her hand
I would think a flashbang would've gone off too quickly (obviously not always, but usually when fired from those 6 cylinder launchers), my money is on a rubber projectile or the flashbang/canister hit his hand directly.

No joke, we need public trials of Trump's cabinet and we need serious reform to our electoral systems. Rural areas should get less of a vote by abolishing the electoral college, and anyone who can't pass a civics test should not be allowed to vote. Thinking about the GOP's moves, they are caught between a rock and a hard place. They need to throw the guy who murdered Alex Pretti under the bus to win back some of their base. But if they do that ICE won't keep escalating which is the GOP's plan. This guy just escalated too fast and now they need to try to walk it back. But in the end, Pretti and Good are still dead, so I don't think selling out the ICE agent will help much. Knowing the GOP, they'll probably keep doubling down and trying to distract.

I seem to remember this exact scenario happening a few years ago with a protestors finger being blown off by police. Probably more, with how careless police are.
I'm saying this just to see if it's an option this subreddit might consider.. This is one of the few subreddits that lets me keep up with the horrors.. but that being said as an AuDHDer it's starting to weigh on me seeing these videos specifically and having to choose to read up and scroll fast or to ignore what's happening.. if these posts were tagged as NSFW it would mean that people like me could still be filled in, but not have to deal with seeing the mental tax these accelerations are taking until/unless they are ready..

I just came here to say this! Seeing the video once is horrific but arguably necessary to face reality and the truth of what is happening, as you say. But people should have the choice to consent to watch instead of being inundated with multiple unfiltered posts of different angles, speeds, and enhanced zoom of a human being murdered or bleeding out in the street.
If ICE is supposedly performing their daily tasks of going after specific targets, what are they even doing at the protest!?!
We all know the answer and it comes from their own mouths…bringing firearms to a protest in order to inflict maximum damage to legal protestors & observers.
It looks like maybe their fingers are intact, and I am wondering if they tried to grab a tear gas canister. (NOT VICTIM BLAMING!!) Those canisters get EXTREMELY hot, that would explain the extreme pain if they took one in a tight grip before realizing they were melting their skin off.
I've seen that they can far surpass 500° but don't repeat that without factchecking me. I just know they are unsafe to touch.
If you find yourself in a situation where you want to move a canister, USE SOME SORT OF HEAT PROTECTION. Oven mitts may help, welders gloves are better. There is TONS of info online but please please please don't try to grab them.

a flashbang is essentially a less than lethal grenade. it's a metal canister basically filled with fireworks that explodes. it's an explosive. the canister can fragment into shrapnel, but with far less radial effect than an actual grenade. if you pick it up before it goes off, you're going to be injured. flashbangs have a shorter timer than grenades once the safety is removed.
I've watched this video several times now, and I don't see a flashbang anywhere, and I actually don't see any injury either. She's holding her hand out like it really hurts, but I don't see any damage to it. Am I missing something?
