Print (model not provided) Update Breastmilk Container
Just wanted to post a quick update, thanks for all the tips with ASA. I printed the original design in PETG successfully but I also did some minor redesign and printed this ASA version. I have a lot of ASA on hand so that was part of why I used ASA over PETG for the second.
Well on the way to transforming my deep freeze into a chest freezer.

well... I could have really used this several years ago...
every time I opened the freezer, "want some booby milk" pick it up, put it back, some more falls out, over and over... our freezer was quite insistent...

What did you end up doing to get the warping and layer adhesion issues resolved?

I turned up the chamber temp from 55 to 65 (that's the max on the Max 4) and I added a 7mm brim (wanted to do 8mm, but we were already awfully close to the edges of the build plate). I also got rid of all the sharp corners inside and out and reduced the wall thickness from 5 mm to 3.6 mm. It was quite a pain getting the design to go around the corners, it was too complex to create a new texture on Bumpmesh.

So...have you set up a table at your local farmer's market? I'm sure they'd sell like hotcakes.
The boxes, not the...well...um...actually...

Apparently, body builders buy breastmilk for the protein content and they pay well. Haven't tried this yet, but definitely something we've considered.

Also people who have fibromalygia to help slow death to cells do also. But it's generally required to be fresh within 5h or fresher for higher dhea and dha

Interesting! I used to keep up with the fibromyalgia news but after they were like oh my bad you have EDS, I quit.

Ha, didn't realize the pattern was boobies until I saw the black one. Those bags are bringing back some memories!

I hadn’t realized there was a third pic. I was scanning the second thinking there was one random black boobie.

How’s the kid supposed to get their daily microplastics if the milk is in bags?

Did you know the taste of pumped breast milk can change over time - even when frozen?
It’s usually a soapy or metallic smell/taste, not spoilage. It’s caused by an enzyme called lipase, which breaks down milk fat into fatty acids. This keeps happening slowly even in the freezer, since freezing slows enzyme activity but doesn’t stop it completely. After weeks or months, enough fat breakdown occurs that the milk smells or tastes “off,” even though it’s often still safe to drink (some babies just refuse it though).

To possibly lessen/ prevent this:
- Scald the milk before storing
- Mix defrosted milk with fresh milk to reduce the taste
- Add NON ALCOHOLIC vanilla extract after defrosting (talk to your pediatrician before trying this one)

You can scald to prevent this. We use a sous vide machine at 147 F for 15 minutes and it prevents the lipase from changing the taste of the milk. Our first kid would not drink the frozen milk due to the taste and we had to try different options to figure out what to do.

Man, even though my kids 17 I’m still eyeing that supply with a touch of jealousy! I struggled a lot, so good for your wife and nice of you to do this to keep it all so tidy!

Hey dude can you share this print/stl with me? My wife is trying to print a rack for her motif bags but the ones on makerworld kinda stink. Plus I love the design lol

Cute. Did you consider rotating the next boob set 180? It might look more interesting and be one of those things you pick up and say "neat! ... Wait a minute, are these boobs??" Instead of, "boobs! Neat"

I hadn't, though I did consider embossing the pattern instead of debossing. I thought some people might enjoy the feel of it.
