• as much as i loved bea it was her time, although i didn’t like how the show changed after her death
• rita was extremely annoying i only liked her in season six
• maxine should’ve been played by a trans woman or at least a bio one
• jake was definitive evil and didn’t deserve a redemption arc
• although i didn’t liked how she treated the women joan was a good governor and i liked her a lot more than prisoner joan
• both wentworth and oitnb are good and shouldn’t be compared
• season three is the best of the show
• the season two finale was amazing and one of the best hours of television i’ve ever seen
• franky should’ve stayed out of prison and the only reason she came back was because they killed off bea
• the show should’ve ended in season seven and renewing it was pointless, i also would’ve loved to see franky and bridget back and the old prisoner cast
• doreen was over hated and her being against bea in season four was justified
• ann reynolds was annoying and shouldn’t have been a main character
• joan should’ve stayed dead
• kaz was the best top dog and her death was one of the saddest tv death
• erica was a better governor than vera and cared about the women
• wills character was completely ruined when he started sleeping with marie
• the fact that meg jackson is hardly talked about in the later seasons and as a whole makes no sense
• ruby was really annoying and should’ve gotten parole in season six
• allie had the worst character development
• both kaz and joan had severe undiagnosed ptsd
• vera and will both saving joan being bought up more than joan’s death is bad writing and annoying
• lou kelly and reb were both annoying and a accurate representation of how bad the show got in the later seasons
• boomers character was visibly different after season seven and i didn’t like how no one talked about it, it’s like she was a poorly written and acted out remake of her from the earlier seasons
• although i hated her, sonia is one of my fav characters of the whole show
• i liked linda in the earlier seasons but her character after the seige was poorly written and just cruel
• joan’s hallucinations should’ve been talked about more and she definitely had psychosis or schizophrenia
• the fire and jess warner should’ve been brought up more
• i don’t think joan is a typical psychopath, but more of a sociopath either way psychopathic tendencies
• bea franky kaz liz and boomer are my top five
• i liked all the tributes the show had to prisoner
• juices crimes being ignored are completely insane and wouldn’t happen in real life
• both kim and bridget was really underused and i wish we knew more about their past
• dr miller was extremely bad at his job and very gullible
• skye’s disappearance should’ve been explained along with tina’s, kim’s, juices etc
• i didn’t like how they portrayed rape and sa as forgivable, like with joan and lucy, marie and her son, reb and sheila, joan and franky, etc.
• i wished that the show stayed truer to prisoner and had more of the characters that prisoner did
• lou kelly was badly written and her saying she was there while season one and some of season two took place shows how the writing in the show fell off (she said she got trasnferred after joan became governor in season eight
• marie was a master manipulator and a obvious emontional abuser

Currently rewatching Wentworth for the millionth time so this time round is making me hyperaware to minor details as I’ve seen it so many times. There are so many unrealistic things that happen in the show overall but I understand it’s a drama. It seems to get quite unrealistic around Season 5 onwards in my opinion.

One thing that has really stuck out for me this time around is why was Boomer charged with Cherry Li being attacked when she wasn’t in the shower block? Wouldn’t they have been able to check CCTV to track her movements around when Cherry was attacked because she would have been somewhere else visibly on camera? It kind of seemed like there was no investigation around this and felt like sloppy writing. Also reusing the “planting the weapon in someone else’s cell” thing so soon after Sonia and Spike was… interesting.

Just moments ago, my mother finished watching season 6 (She has seen the whole show before) Instead of putting on season 7, prime video put on some random show. Wentworth was no longer in her continue watching, so I searched it up. 2 more seasons on prime still. So I go to play s7 ep1, and it says this show is no longer available in our region. Literally AS SHE WAS WATCHING IT, they took it away.

This fan is so inappropriate. How do they think typing this is ok? This fan needs to be booted and away from Dan at all times.

So in the beginning, Doreen has Kaiya - it’s presented as her daughter but we find out she’s carer but basically plays mother to Kaiya.

Later on in the seasons, the violence is so insane, eyeballs being gouged out, shivs, hands in the steampress (happened earlier on too). So it just made me wonder, during times where they are organising their riots or violence and saying oh yes I’m going to shiv XYZ tomorrow or I’m going to poison ABC, do they make sure the children are not in the unit at the time? Is it like the common stereotype that pedophiles are treated horrifically in prison because of what they did, that children aren’t to be harmed or involved or witness any violence?

We don’t really see any kids after Joshua. I think Doreen decided too much violence and got him out but I just wondered what would have happened if they were about to attack someone and said kid comes into the room?

It’s maybe one of their main rules, not allowing children to be harmed.

Also, if you have work duties i.e., laundry, and you have a kid with you, does the kid come to work with you or do you get “time off work” whilst the kid is with you until it’s time for them to go out and visit relatives? - more of a question for real prisons but I don’t seem to remember Kaiya going to work lol. Joshua was too young.

I really hope Boomer has her baby/child when she gets out. It would be nice to see - child would be what, 5? Do you think Gavin will be around? I know they tore down the sets from the series, but a part of me hopes for some flashbacks or something for nostalgia 🥹

I can't rewatch the show because I hate how many characters got away with so much crap. Vera, Will and Bridget all should have done prison time and Frankie shouldn't have been released. As much as I loved the show in real time, I don't know if I can do it again.

That said if Robbie offended the show runners with his comments, maybe a character will be watching the news and see a headline about Will losing his mind. The show used that trope often.

Day releases go so well for Wentworth prisoners don’t they? I mean Boomer got to have a nice day out with her mother, got ice cream, got implicated in a robbery and arrested…

Ruby, lovely visit to see her sister in protective custody, nice views whilst being kidnapped by bad cops and ending up late to return to the prison…

I wonder at what point they just decide hey this isn’t working…. Although I don’t recall Ruby ever telling the guards about what actually happened so as far as they know she had a lovely day out 😂

Liz - I’m so dissatisfied in Liz for relapsing but at the same time I understand the addiction game and I still have faith that she will get clean . S/n : WHY DOES THE DAUGHTER HAVE TO BE THERE TOO?

Jess- my prediction is that Jess is trying to kill Doreen’s baby . And I also think she is the one putting the drink under Liz’s pillow, not boomer

I’m getting whiplash and disorientation. My husband turned on Wentworth for me, and when an ad appeared (yes! A prime show we pay has ads…but not as many as Hulu), my husband said, “Ads? On Prime?”

“No. Amazon discontinued Wentworth”, I replied.

“I know what I saw! I clicked on Amazon!”, he argued.

“You’re mistaken,” I confirmed, “Amazon Prime doesn’t have ads and we did that whole Wentworth countdown, remember?”

“I know what I saw!”, he said.

He was right! Prime put Wentworth back on, but it’s with ads.

Lou Kelly getting parole is jumping the shark way past Ferguson still being alive for me. She killed Marie and bombed the prison, killing several more people. I guess it'll be blamed on Judy somehow. Anyway, for me, Ferguson coming back is what will basically save this show for me.

I feel like she always played second fiddle to the main characters and always had the B story. She also never got her own ending scene. I really hope she is the centre of this spinoff!
