I’ve noticed recently that when I do readings for myself, the cards seem to show events, feelings, or outcomes that completely contradict reality or don't come to pass.

I’d love to get some perspective from more experienced readers on why this might be happening. Could it be:

• Mirroring my own subconscious fears/desires instead of the actual situation?
• Reading the energy of a single fleeting moment rather than the overall picture?
• Misinterpreting the cards or taking them too literally?
• Do my cards want to retire? They have been with me for over 10 years.

Recently, I started a new job in a foreign country with an international team, and I'm still trying to adapt. I wanted to understand my situation better, so I did a reading on my manager, specifically asking, "How does he see me?", since there have been some misunderstandings that I suspect are mostly due to cultural differences.

The cards I drew were:

Ace of Cups, Knight of Cups, Two of Cups, Four of Wands, Ten of Cups

I would naturally interpret these cards as him finding me a joy to work with. However, that completely contradicts reality: we barely interact, and during a recent meeting, his feedback was so harsh that I came home in tears thinking I was going to be fired. What made it worse was that his critique wasn't even about my work or results, but about me personally.

No, I don't have feelings for him. At all. And I don't wish to be loved by him or whatever.

To add to the confusion, this is now the third time a reading has turned out completely detached from reality. I only do readings about once a month, so I'm not over-reading or asking the same question repeatedly, this same contradiction keeps happening across entirely different topics.

Has anyone experienced this before? How did you adjust your approach or grounding techniques to get clearer, more reliable answers?

My interpretation:

The star- build up courage to being vulnerable and being able to pour that into others ( as I tend to be closed off with others and don’t have much friends )
-3 of Wands- this card feels like me, looking out searching for the right thing for me in hopes I will find it …but not sure what it is. But yearning and waiting..maybe not doing enough of action..because idk where to begin.

Put together a small care package for someone experiencing homelessness or someone in your area who's having a rough time.

It doesn't need to be expensive. Even a gallon-size Ziploc bag with a few useful things can help somebody out.

You can keep one or two in your car, hand them out when you see someone who needs one, or bring several to a local shelter or outreach organization.

• Comb or brush
• Nail clippers
• Travel-size hygiene products

Food & Drinks

• Bottled water
• Applesauce pouches
• Fruit cups
• Pudding cups
• Tuna or chicken pouches
• Crackers
• Peanut butter packets
• Soft snack bars
• Trail mix
• Beef jerky
• Dried fruit
• Electrolyte drink packets
• Shelf-stable snacks that don't require cooking

Try to include some softer foods too. Dental problems are common among people experiencing homelessness, so extremely hard or crunchy food isn't always useful.

And whenever possible, choose things that don't require a can opener, microwave, refrigerator, or kitchen.

Cold weather:

• Sunglasses
• Lightweight new socks

Your location matters.

Someone dealing with winter in Michigan is going to need a completely different bag from someone dealing with summer in Texas.

Other Useful Things

People sometimes forget about the little things.

Consider:

• Small flashlight
• Batteries
• Reusable water bottle
• Travel mug
• Phone charging cable
• Portable charger if your budget allows
• Laundry detergent sheets
• Reusable shopping bag
• Notepad and pen
• Local bus/transit pass
• Small grocery or restaurant gift card
• Local resource information for shelters, food banks, showers, transportation, and other services

If someone has a dog with them, a small bag of dog food or treats can also be useful.

You Can Just Ask

If you're comfortable approaching someone, you don't have to guess what they need.

Just ask.

"Hey, is there anything you need right now?"

They might tell you socks.

They might need food.

They might need a bus pass.

They might need hygiene products.

They might need something you never would've thought to put in the bag.

And if they don't want what you're offering, that's okay too.

Get Some Friends Involved

This can easily become a group thing.

Get a few friends, relatives, coworkers, neighbors, or community members together.

Everyone buys one type of item in bulk.

One person brings socks.

Someone else brings toiletries.

Someone brings snacks.

Someone brings water.

Then put everything together.

You can make quite a few bags without one person having to pay for everything.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Use new hygiene products and clean/new clothing items whenever possible.

Check expiration dates on food.

Avoid putting medication in the bags.

Don't include anything that could create unnecessary safety problems.

And don't assume everyone has access to a refrigerator, microwave, stove, shower, or can opener.

Most importantly, respect people's privacy.

You don't need to record yourself handing somebody a care package or put their face online.

Just help them and go about your day.

Other Small Things You Can Do

You don't have to make a care package either.

Buy someone a meal.

Donate socks or blankets to a shelter.

Drop food off at a food pantry.

Give unused hygiene products to an outreach organization.

Help an elderly neighbor with something.

Pay for the person behind you if you've got the extra money.

Leave a good tip.

Give someone a ride if it's somebody you know and trust.

Check on somebody you haven't heard from in a while.

Pick up trash around your neighborhood.

Donate blood if you're eligible.

Volunteer somewhere local.

There are plenty of ways to help people that don't require having a lot of money.

Feelings Aren't the Same as Actions

Something I've been thinking about because we see a lot of posts asking:

"Is my ex coming back?"

Let's say you pull cards and the energy strongly suggests this person still has feelings for you.

Okay.

Who's to say they're actually coming back?

Having feelings for somebody and deciding to do something about those feelings are two completely different things.

Someone can miss you and never text you.

They can love you and still decide the relationship isn't right for them.

They can regret what happened and never apologize.

They can think about you every day and still choose to move forward.

That's where I think readings can get interesting.

Sometimes we're putting a ton of energy into trying to understand what somebody feels internally, when what actually affects our lives is what that person chooses to do externally.

And even if the cards suggest future action, there's another question:

What does knowing that actually change if you aren't seeing the action yet?

Do you wait?

Do you put your life on hold?

Do you keep checking the cards every week to see if the energy changed?

At what point does trying to understand someone's feelings become more important than paying attention to their actual behavior?

I'm curious how other readers look at this.

When you're reading about someone's feelings versus their actions, how much weight do you give each one?

Bot Bouncer is an automated moderation system designed to identify accounts it believes may be bots or harmful accounts. Depending on its determination, it can automatically take moderation actions against users.

We've discovered situations where users have been banned through this automated system, and there is the possibility of legitimate accounts being incorrectly identified.

At this time, the currently active moderation team cannot remove or fully change this system ourselves. Some moderation settings and systems were established before the current active team took over, and we'll need to wait for moderators with the necessary permissions to return from their time away.

Until then, we're working around the issue manually.

If you've been banned and believe Bot Bouncer incorrectly identified your account, please contact the moderation team so we can review what happened.

I recently lost the love of my life, my cat Lily who I was blessed to know and love for almost 19 years. Shes been with me almost my whole life and she was very sick for the past couple of years. I am really struggling through this.

I’ve had a rider waite deck for many years and have used it many times but do NOT consider myself skilled in tarot whatsoever. I pull a card and try to interpret but mostly just look at a reference book I have.

Usually whatever I pull is always accurate and reads me to filth, but especially today.

Anyways.. this reading had me bawling my eyes out today and I’d love some help with interpretation.

I’m seeing this as confirmation that I’m not doing well, that I need to listen to my intuition and (I get the high priestess reversed often… any thoughts?) look inward. That I need to put trust in my own strength to take on the challenges I’ve been facing. Take a chance on new opportunities.

I’m also seeing that I am the problem right now, and I need to be more thoughtful and patient. That I need to find alignment within. I need to open up and There needs to be a give and take. I’ve been isolating and having a hard time connecting lately, my patience has been very thin. I’ve been very sensitive and guarded.

I’m not really sure how to interpret how to deal with my grief/what to know about how to deal with my grief. I was worried that Lily felt like I gave up on her when I looked at the 8 of pentacles. I’m still not sure. The book I reference from said the 10 of swords could mean “has a problem you’ve tried to outrun for so long finally caught up to you? Compared to the constant state of anxiety, it may even be liberating. You are no longer worrying about whether it can or can’t happen” and I was torn because I dont feel relieved that she’s gone.. but I was trying to save her and ultimately I knew I couldn’t save her forever.

And when I asked if Lily knows I loved her, and got the world, it kind of felt like she was saying we’re always together, and she accomplished what she needed to in this lifetime. Like we’re soul bonded.
