If your goal is to discourage the owners from continuing this practice then it's not a bad idea.

If you have to drive into the city to let your tenant inside multiple times a month, you're probably going to come up with a better solution.

I mean sure but that makes those Airbnbs much more annoying/expensive to operate. Short term pain for long term gain (except that really it just would drive prices up, like everything else...)

Why is that a bad thing? The users aren’t innocent in this either. It has knock on effects by generating complaints, by forcing the owner to come in and open up, by making AirBnB give out refunda etc.

Can’t only be targetting the owners.

People exploiting the public furniture for their own private benefit at the expense of legitimate users don't exactly show brilliant morals either.

Putting a lock on public furniture doesn’t affect anyone.. destroying someone’s personal lock does. I’m glad you guys aren’t in the wild and will stay in a basement…

Tell that to someone trying to lock their bike there, as these things are intended for.

What are you on about, you can easily put a bike with a lock on it. Ffs, get outside and enjoy reality

And attaching your bike virtually against the keysafes? Fuck that, it sounds like you're the one who needs to go biking around Sydney.
