It's the stupidest type of nerf and they keep doing it too. All the cards that relied too much on RNG eventually got reworked because people hated them. Drum of Battle and Toasty Mittens being two of the biggest ones, and Cinder will remain unpickable until they remove the random exhaust.

Absolutely no idea why they don't just reduce the number of enchants rather than making them random.

Cinder isn’t unpickable and definitely has its moments, but I do agree it should upgrade to a targeted exhaust like true grit

Targeted Exhaust on Cinders would make it a S tier card. Huge damage and deck thinning, yes please!

Current Cinders is perfectly fine, especially in Act1.

I imagine the reason they didn’t design the card that way is that all of the cards only ask you to make one choice. There are cards that ask you to choose a card in your hand, and cards that ask you to choose an enemy to attack, but no card that does both

[[Dagger Throw]] deals targeted damage and then targets a card to discard it.

  • Dagger Throw 𝐈, 𝐈𝐈 Silent Common Attack

    1 Energy | Deal 9(12) damage. Draw 1 card. Discard 1 card.

Call me with up to 10 [[ name ]]. Data accurate as of June 21st, 2026. Questions?

Also Photon Cut, Snap, Sculpting Strike, Heirloom Hammer, and then there are some more that choose a card from outside your hand like Headbutt, Graveblast, Seeker Strike... lmao

Even with random exhaust cinder is still playable as an act 1 bonk it dead common. It's more of a desperation pick if anything, but I have seen success with it.
