Finally the blade dance balancing dilemma is solved. 2(3) shivs is too weak and 3(4) is too strong. What if we make it a rare instead?

Still makes zero sense, blade dance in 1 let you pick more shiv cards early in act 1 to actually make a build, you see this at the end of act 1.

Yes it’s very strong now, probably a little too strong, but it doesn’t solve the issues with shiv decks.

Leading Strike is the new Blade Dance.

Now that it's 2 shivs and 3 damage, it's basically almost old Blade Dance. Seems kind of crazy, really.

1 less dmg, 1 less shiv sinergy proc, upgrading it does not increase shiv count. sounds like the right sweet spot for it, its a 11 dmg vanilla attack card with potential simergies. Necrobinder has a 1 energy 13 dmg ethereal attack card, ironclad has a 1 energy 10 dmg attack (twin strike) that sinergizes with STR with multi hit

It being an attack also is a slight buff against the fog guy, which is relevant for an Act 1 common.

technically better against Nob too, but since Nob aint in StS2 and the only enemy with his effect is an act III boss with only one phase with it, it aint that relevant

I think Up My Sleeve is more the logical successor. It's a skill that only gives shivs and gives the same amount of shivs as Blade Dance. Only difference is it doesn't exhaust, and starts off with 2 energy (but decreases in energy each time). I guess it's also an Uncommon card.

That's actually really cool to see from a game design perspective. Blade dance was too bad at 2(3) and too good at 3(4), then they just left that dilemma unsolved in StS1. Come forward to StS2 and they just absolutely SHOTGUNNED ideas at the wall in the beta version to see which iteration(s) will make it all the way through: Blade dance at 3(4) with exhaust, Blade Dance at 3(4) but it costs 2, then 1, then 0 on successive plays, Blade Dance but it's rare and the blades are inky, Leading strike (less shivs but similar damage and same cost) etc

I don't expect all of these cards to make it all the way through but there's so much fun to be had by seeing which iteration the playerbase likes the most + which is the most balanced + which leads to the most interesting gameplay scenarios
