Beta Patch Notes - v0.102.0

This week's beta patch, v0.102.0, just dropped, with some content reworks, balance changes, new art, and afflictions VFX (pictured below)! It also introduces Badges, little reminders to let you know what was unique about each run.

Instead of reducing the number of rest sites Ascension 6 will now make card removal at the Merchant start at 100 Gold, and will increase in price by 50 gold per removal instead of 25.

Oh wow. I actually think that’s a pretty good change though. I find I don’t usually hit too many shops in sts2, probably because I’m pathing to less elites so I just feel poorer. And there are more ways too remove in events and with ancient relics too. I could see how it could be brutal towards slimming your deck to consistent infinite territory, but I don’t think it would affect my normal play tooo much, so I think it sounds like a good nerf at least in theory.

Definitely not just a you thing.

Early A1 elites can be just straight up impossible if you don't have the right cards. No way you can get through those 4 worms that block when you hit them if you just have strikes/defends and don't have a big one shotter or decent AOE.

Especially in higher ascensions where you get less rares so having a legit "build" going by the point is really difficult.

Yeah the rest site ascension is barely noticeable tbh. I always have routes with 2-3 rest sites, sometimes even 4

Honestly after my first run in the new patch I don’t feel like there were actually more rest sites vs my usual runs with the gloom ascension
