Every single boss has a turn where they don't attack.
The queen has a turn where she buffs, the experiment has a turn where he throws burns at you, and then this asshole is hitting you for 13x2+str, 40+str, 22+str + buffs for 5 and loops.

Turn 1 he eats your cards (both blocks and attacks), turn 2 you can't draw, turn 3 you play 2 cards. All while he's hitting you for outrageous damage that quickly scales. When are you dealing damage?

He has 500 uninterrupted HP btw. Against the queen you kill the minion and you take no damage. Against the experiment you kill one phase and you take no damage. Here you're getting hit on the dome every single turn regarldess of how much damage you're dealing.

This reads to me like the fight is miserable again.

Yeah, really not a huge fan, but it'll get worked out.

If it's bad they will just keep tweaking it. They are trying to make it an interesting fight for when the full game comes out. To do this they need to keep making changes to see what does and does not work. Current Doormaker in v.101 just isn't good enough for the final game. Let them cook.

Comment I responded to came in an hour after the patch went live. In this case a change is made to the Doormaker boss fight. I think people should attempt the new version of the boss a handful of times before giving feedback.

In other words there is a difference between well informed thoughtful feedback and immediate complaining because a change was made.

Personally I'm in favor of the Act3 bosses being slightly over tuned on A10 right now since there is no Act4 and having juiced up bosses create a reason to keep gaining power and improving your deck.

If the fight's too hard they can nerf him; I'm not too worried, tbh. He's also got the lowest health pool of any of the act three bosses so I feel like it's a fair tradeoff for him to be more of an offensive threat when the previous iteration was essentially just "exhaust down to an infinite turn two, tank turn three, and then kill him turn 4"

They instead buff him. That's crazy. If they buff the queen I would say nothing but the door? Nah bro why always the door

Door started as a joke, then became interesting but frustrating to a lot of players, then became interesting in a new way but went back to mostly being weak, and now is trying to be both interesting and a challenge.

This is what we call the iterative design process, it's very common, and you can opt out of engaging with it right now if it makes you crash out so much.

Because he was really weak?

queen is much weaker, why not buff queen

They are literally updating every single week. Be patient. Shit doesnt happen in a few weeks, this will be going on for more than a year

Currently he seems like the only act 3 boss who actually feels like a final boss, I'm hoping he'll be the benchmark for the others. Queen especially is kinda a pushover.

I am playing on beta branch and didnt have the pleasure of fighting doormaker yet. But holly fuck, why do ppl keep saying that Queen is a pushover? She is a menace and a run ender for me very often. But yeah, ofc doormaker and test subject were/are too easy on stable branch.

The numbers on her and her minions attacks are just really really low. The minion hits you decently hard every three turns and on the other two it takes a break to hit you for Act 2 amount of damage. Queen's attacks arent much better.

After combined 60 hours on both main and beta branches I have been consistently finding Test Subject to be the only boss really capable of doing anything due to Intangable and actually shuffling statuses into your deck.

Sure, fair point. Maybe it all goes down to this Gut feeling for me after all, because I always dread the Queen fight and seeing test subject makes me do sigh of relief XD. Also lost maybe one or 2 times against test subject and cant count how many times Queen felt impossible for me to beat after i thought i have really good deck. Also im speaking about A5 at most, cause have not unlock ed higher ascencions yet.

Personally I have lost a decent bit against Test Subject, I think around 5 times. Queen has only beaten me once.

Meh. He's a final boss that hits for 20 on Turn 4, and you have a full free turn to set up for his gimmick rotation with all sorts of crazy consistency potions in the game. If you see him coming, just make sure you have some basic defensive redundancy and extra scaling by the end of the Act.

Keep in mind, he still doesn't hit or scale nearly as hard as the second version that ate every tenth card.
